Just started Optifast 800 - anyone try this?
Hello everyone:
This is my first post here. I just began a medically supervised weight loss program. Doc has put me on essentially a liquid diet for the first part part (active weight lost part) of this program. I am pre-diabetic (A1C is 6.1%), BMI 33. My goal is to lose 50 pounds. I am also taking Metformin.
I am hanging in there (lost 10 pounds my first week!), but this is tough, even though I really want to succeed. How do I psychologically change the way I think about food? How have you guys done it? This is all for nothing if I don't change the way I think about food. I want the results, and I am battling through the diet because I want the results (the most important of which for me being better health and heading off diabetes, which runs in my family).
I signed onto this forum because I'm trying to tackle this obstacle psychologically, too, and am hoping for help, support, inspiration - anything!
Can anyone else share their experiences with Optifast (pros, cons, struggles)? How much weight did you lose, were you able to keep it off, how far into the program did you plateau, etc.?
Can anyone give me advice on how to psychologically stick to this? I want to live a long life.
Anyone's thoughts would be so appreciated!
Lisa
