Bulletproof coffee anyone?

Hey ladies and gents! I did some Googling and people have discussed this topic before but not for some months and often in the IF thread so I wanted a more general outlook. I hope that's copacetic.

Anyway, does anyone do Bulletproof coffee in the mornings? Do you do the traditional butter/ghee, MCT oil/coconut oil, coffee? Have you seen success with it? I'm just looking to see if it's something people are trying. I mean, I know it's popular enough that Starbucks makes it but that doesn't mean it's a good thing! Anyway, any input is appreciated.

Hi there,
I drink black coffee with coconut oil every morning. I don't blend it though, I just add a tsp. of the oil directly into my coffee.
I've noticed my skin is amazing, and I'm not hungry for a bit after I have my coffee in the morning. I've been doing this for 2 years now.

I have never heard about this stuff before! But it was interesting to read the post above! I hope some more people will also share their opinion as for this topic;-)

I just checked the book out of the library the other day. Not too far into reading it just yet. Skimmed here and there.

It's just like any other low carb diet I think. I don't drink coffee so I would have to do the no-coffee vanilla latte.

After I get the gist of it all, then will decide if it is for me or not.

I've heard of it, sounds interesting, but I don't have any opinion on it.

My "coffee" is a teaspoon of low acid instant coffee granules and three splenda packets mixed into cold dark chocolate coconut water. The resultant strong, cold mocha really satisfies me.

I make a "coffee shake" with a teaspoon of the instant, two splenda packets, a tsp. of light olive oil and a cup of light unsweetened almond milk. The oil in that does make me satiated for hours.

I didn't try it for any particular benefit, but I wanted to try it so I did. I didn't love it.

Bulletproof coffee

I'll admit Ive never even heard of it before seeing your post! I'm going to have to do my homework because my coffee is the one thing I will not skimp on in the morning. I do add a tsp of virgin coconut oil in everyday though. That is the only healthy thing in that cup!!

I have tried the coffee with butter once and didn’t like it. I only drink coffee for the energy so it probably wouldn’t work for me because I have to have cream and sugar in mine.

I've tried a variation on it, and drink it regularly as 'breakfast' when I don't feel like forcing myself to eat anything.

Generally I just blend a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil (or unsalted butter when I am out of coconut oil) into 1 liter of coffee, pour some into a cup and the rest into a large travelers mug. The travelers mug keeps me fueled on coffee all morning at work.

Personally I wouldn't do more than a tablespoon as I wouldn't want to waste calories on the little to no nutritional value I would be receiving from the extra 130 calories. That's just me though.

ETA:I also just nuked some old, cold coffee from this morning and threw a little coconut milk in it for a pre-workout pick me up. I think I will be trying that next time I have coffee for breakfast instead of the oil/butter and see how long it keeps me feeling satied.
