I have a past question :)

I hope this is the right place to post this. I've not had any pasta for 6 weeks. It was part of a low carb low glycemic eating plan I'm on. Well. Today there wasn't much in the house for lunch and wasn't heading out due to going food shopping tonight with hubby. So I made a small portion of normal type macaroni elbows with a sliver of butter. I thought that this was going to be soooo yummy. Half way through meal I have horrible stomach pains and bloating. I didn't finish the meal only ate half the portion ( 1/2 cup cooked maybe). So after half hour starting to subside. Anyone else have this?? I used to eat pasta ALL the time woth no issues. It hasn't happened with bread either because I'm off bread too. Thanks in advance

Yup. I know what you are talking about.

A few months ago my doctor had me go on a gluten free diet for a month, even though I had no gluten issues. My first gluten meal was spaghetti. About 40 minutes following the meal the joints in my fingers started to ache, my stomach bloated and I felt terrible.

It happens every time I eat pasta and, to a lesser degree, bread now. I avoid it as much as possible now.

Try 100% corn pasta. It taste's great and no aches or bloating. :)

Yup, me too! I love love pasta. BUT it makes me really uncomfortable. I can eventually become used to that discomfort, but I'd rather not ;) It's good incentive to not eat it.
