Ladynredd, that's fantastic! and thanks for the welcome as an official Mrs.

Rho1640, welcome back. I hope things get brighter soon and I'm sending out positive vibes and prayers to you and your husband.

I'm not putting crazy pressure on myself as I'm "okay" where I am...I even had some wings last night without feeling guilty - I was within maintenance calories. I am going to start up a real running program soon, though. I enjoy it, but it's hard to work it into my days. Summer is the perfect time because it's light out for longer and my daughter spends a lot of time away from home (camp, dad's house, etc). As soon as that happens, WATCH OUT. I'm going to be fit!

You can do this! I'm also not doing great, but I'm at least maintaining. It's WAYYYY too hot - I'm in CT, so I get it!

Volumetrics plan, Day 1. I weighed in at 166 and would like to go to 136. Feeling good and resolved but impatient to see results.

Default Day 1 - worked well

So, I did it. Had zucchini/summer squash "spaghetti" sauteed in a little garlic and olive oil for breakfast, an Amy's Brown Rice & Black Eyed Peas bowl for lunch, a snack of a Wasa cracker (love them) and a melted jalapeno cheese stick, then a Lebanese soup and salad at a local restaurant for dinner. Not hungry at all. This could be sustainable, particularly if it helps me move the needle.

Awesome! For breakfast I had some sauteed broccoli slaw topped with a runny egg, and for lunch I packed a serving of turkey pumpkin chili (I sub in chopped zucchini for the beans), and for dinner I'm making a scallop and mushroom cauliflower "faux-risotto."

Anybody around? I'm still maintaining strong, but somehow everyone is telling me I lost weight. I didn't, but I'll take it! I even see it in the mirror, and my husband told me the same.

Brand new to Volumetrics and these forums. Bought the book. Planned to count calories. Is it true that I don't need to count calories?

I love to eat so I I think Volumetrics can work for me...if I can do it correctly.

I weighed in at 168 today and I want to get down to 140-145 within 4-6 months. Realistic?

Thanks....so glad I found these forums!

With any plan you really should be eating at a calorie deficit. Certain diets make that easier to do, especially volumetrics. I can easily eat 500 calories per day without hunger because my portions are so large!

Thanks Munchy. I am following volumetrics because most diets fail me due to hunger. The book said not to count calories, but I am definitely going to. I thought it was odd to not count. Didn't feel "right." I Started today. Not hungry yet and this is normally the time of day when I start grazing.

First time I've been able to log in here for months. Using the same log in name, same password ... guess I must have held my mouth different.

Don't know what the heck I'm doing, what plan I'm following, but I'm here. It has been a stressful several months, I've been eating to deal with the stress, I know I've gained weight and right now I'm, like, just deal with it. Lots needs to change in 2016 and how I eat is one of them.

It's funny, but some plan threads don't get the traffic that other ones do. There are many people who need that "eat this number of calories" or "count these carb grams, fat grams" or whatever. Volumetrics is so simple. It counts the calories for you. You may crave things that are calorie dense, but if you follow the plan and eat the high volume low calorie foods there's no way you can fail.
