Well thought I'd check in with my fellow IF'ers with a great IF update. So Fast 5 is supposed to lower bp. Mine has been hovering around the borderline high level for a few years, 130/80 usually. Yesterday while shopping I used one of the machines in the pharmacy to check mine it was 110/70 (that was with a pretty bad headache). So that was a great NSV for me!

Yogini - I didn't let my stomach out at all when I measured. I just did it in a "natural" state, but I guess letting it out might be more accurate? I prefer not to look at myself that way LOL I decided to add a few more measurements this month (thigh, arm, etc) since I am adding more strength. Do you measure any of those? I'll probably get it wrong, too lol I'm terrible at it.

wvuchick woohoo! That is a GREAT NSV!!!!! You must be thrilled

I think I saw somewhere that threads are being cleaned up if they are over 300 posts. Do we need to start a new one? I've never heard of that before on any other forums I post in...

Today is my first day back in my routine. Today is a 500 calorie day. Gonna be rough after two weeks off but I am excited to get back to losing weight!

How was everyone's weekend?

The last time I did my weight loss - I measured with gut sucked in. Only measurements I took were bust, natural waist, hips, upper arm and thigh - widest parts.

This time I added a bunch of measurements AND did not sucked in waist AND sucked in waist. I am only taking measurements every three months. TOMORROW is measurements day for the first time since I started.

Berry, you'll have to post your updates about your measurements and let us know what worked best. Also, WAY TO GO on your losses lately! You've been FLYING towards Onederland lately!

Funny you say that - today was the first loss on the scale in over a week as I was in my stall-out period for the month. This next week (hopefully) will result in a very steady downward trend - I hope!

Hello all!
Wvuchick, congrats on your blood pressure!
As far as for me I have been stabilizing around 153 this week, weight loss is moving fairly slow but I'm just glad it went down and not up again.

Hi All-
WVU- yay about the BP!! nice benefit!!
NoName- I haven't measured in a long time. I only did waist but I think it's good to add other zones. I don't have any idea how to measure waist. Probably the most impt thing is to do it the same each time- either suck in or don't, but keep it the same!
Berry- good luck w/ measurements tomorrow!

I ended up added thigh, calf and upper arm measurements. Can't hurt! I think my thighs will be most telling. Or at least I will be most excited about those measurements going down lol!

One day back on 5:2 and I'm already down to my low pre-break weight. So I should have an actual loss by the end of the week

Berry how were your measurements?

Here they are - just took them:

4/5/14, 7/1/14

Hips (widest part): 49, 46
Waist sucked in: 41, 38
Waist relaxed: 44, 41
Belly Button sucked in: 44, 41.5
Belly Button relaxed: 47, 44.5
Boobs: 47, 45
Bra band: 39, 37
Thigh (widest part): 28, 26.25
Calf (widest part); 17.5, 17.25
Upper arm (widest part): 17, 16.25
Neck: 16.25, 16.25
Wrist: 7.25, 7.13

Basically, I've lost 30 pounds and 3 inches where I put on the weight the most. No wonder my "fat person" bra is sliding up my back on the tightest setting. it's a 40DDD, I need a 38 now and with heavy breasts, I NEED that strap to be tighter to hold the girls up properly.

Yesterday was a weird day of eating for me too... I was snacky. I ate some tortilla chips, some cherries and berries. Dinner consisted of 2 ice cream sandwiches and watermelon. Scale is up more than a pound today despite calories coming in at 1100-1150.

Low carb and fasting today.

ETA: my upper arms are always a hard measurement as they are getting smaller, but with the bat wings, they still take up a similar amount of tape measure as the skin hangs low.

Awesome job berry! Sounds like it's time to go bra shopping?

I think it's interesting that sucked in or relaxed you had the same difference in inches in your belly (for both measurements!), so I guess they are both just as accurate.

We have very similar measurements, within about an inch on almost everything. Though apparently I have huge hips LOL! Thanks for sharing. Congrats on your progress!

Thanks...bra shopping will be from my lingerie drawer. That's the good part of being here before at least - less expensive. Though, I don't know if I have more than one 38" bra. I was wearing 36s at my lowest and while close to my lowest as I never had a lot of back fat.

Yay No Name and Berry for the loss of inches! It's hard to see sometimes- I like the idea of measurements.
I did some today: hips, calf, bra band, waist, belly button, and thigh. Maybe it will be good motivation....
NoName- so awesome that you did so well while taking your break!!!

Good Morning! I've been a member of 3Chicks for a long time and believe have tried IF. However, I just recently picked up a book on it and am going to try it again. I am going to combine it with my Weight Watcher program, because I believe WW is basically just healthy eating. I am going to keep it simple and do 16:8 or maybe 17:7. I am going to do it everyday, but maybe slack off a bit on the weekends...depending on what is going on. My eating window will be Noon to 7:00 or 8:00. I find it's easy for me not to eat when I first get up in the morning, so skipping breakfast isn't a problem. I've read through several of the posts and there are so many versions of this method!!! Picking up tips and may adjust my program as I go! Thanks for this thread! It's great to have a place to go with questions and to see how others are doing! Have a wonderful day!!!

Welcome Old Schmoopy! (your username makes me giggle, I think I'll just call you Schmoopy though!) There's so many ways to do IF, that's for sure, but I think that is a wonderful thing...it's just a concept that you adjust to meet your needs and goals. And if it's not working, you change it again! I hope this works for you

Yogini99 - Thanks! Now I'm just trying to get back on the horse. My first day back was great (fasting) but my second day, yesterday, didn't go so well. I ate everything in sight and didn't really stick to my eating window. I was still licking spoons and sneaking bites by 10PM. Ugh. Today is a new day. How are you doing? Always interested in your progress as we're doing pretty much the same plan!
