Ahhh Susie ((((Quilter)))) you know what, he can only take advantage of you if you allow it. I know I'm a fine one to talk, but when you get enough it's time to REBEL!!! Just make it known that you are taking a vacation and go, then screen you're calls while you are out and enjoy yourself. He sure isn't being fair to you when he lets the new person off after you had your time off already planned.
Hi to everyone, I'm just sort of plugging along, I absolutly do not want to be here today. I would sooooooooooo love to retire or just be able to quit. This year has taken a lot out of me, guess I'm feeling the stress of not having any time off. Let's see, we had Jan 1st, and July 4th off so far this year. They give us our holidays in Nov & Dec. so it won't cause them to lose any business! Not counting all the weekends that I've worked too, man do I need a vacation. Told DH, that we would just get in the car and drive until we wanted to stop, didn't care if we just stayed in the motel room as long as I didn't have to cook, clean or answer the phone. LET'S JUST MAKE THIS GRIPE DAY FOR ALL OF OUR JOBS! :hot: :bomb: (Quilter, I'm making light of your situation.) See you girls later........ |
It's okay - I just have to gripe to somebody occasionally and then I go on with the day. I realize I am going to have to speak up for myself and then I know just what he'll say - "Well, you know I just rely on you for everything - why don't you take an extra day off soon." This when I can't get what's already owing. But I'm going to surprise him and actually do it. And go away - and I'm not leaving a phone number where I can be reached - which he always makes me do.
What I'd really like to do is go to a spa and be pampered and cared for and starved for a week...in seclusion! |
Gripe Day! My kids are driving me insane! Fighting and picking on each other. Yelling at each other...then the dog thinks she has to join in...yelping. All this and we haven't even left for haircuts yet....riding in the car with kids. :bomb: At least the dog isn't coming with us. :p

I know declare the last Wednesday of every month - GRIPE DAY! That way we'll know relief is on the way! Anyone know where I can get a really, really big bottle of Excedrin? Many years ago when I was a young thing, Excedrin ran a series of commerical - for example "Excedrin Headache #31 - the kids and screaming and fighting and the dog is yelping" "Excedrin Headache #75, your Mother-in-Law just announced she is coming to stay for 2 weeks!" Ah, for the good old days!

We've Got Quilter Back!!! Glad to see that you're back to your old self again. ;)
Guess I'd better get some things off my chest if I have to wait an entire month to do this again! No, I think I pretty much did that earlier! Ha I'll be the :genie: and give Quilter extra days off without interuptions from anyone! And a pamper day. Tig you get a quite ride to the hairdressers with quite kids :wizard: or a giant roll of duck tape. And your pamper day will be getting here as soon as school starts. Take the first one for just you. I feel silly today, can you tell? |
Good evening!!
I just got back from my run(3km tonight!) and i feel so energetic! Semo: thanks for the pm on the breathing, it sounds very interesting and I may give it a try! Quilter/Tiger: you both need a BREAK by the sounds of things!! I think your boss(quilter )needs a reality check! And Tiger I totally know how the kids can drive you:fr::dizzy:  ! I have 3 - 9, 7, and my little man just turned 2 last week!! Hope you all have a better day tomorrow:^: ! Jello: hope you are resting and being a good patient- you'll be :dancer: before you know it!:D (these smilies are just TOO fun!) |
Good morning, ladies! Looks like yet another rainy day. Last summer we were having a drought and this year it's rain every day. Both keep the tourists away so that is not good for many businesses in our area.
Doing okay with my food plan. Been reading the South Beach Diet book and what the dietician has me on is about that. Wow...I was a South Beacher and didn't even know it! It does work well for me so I don't care what they call it. Faye, you have to excuse me but I finally noticed your stats - WAY TO GO, GIRL! You are doing great and I have no doubt you'll reach your goal. Wonder how Jello is doing. Hope the drugs are keeping her pain free and she's back with us soon. Have to get to work - tenants moving in and out today, rent is due tomorrow so I'll be getting checks today. This is the sideline to my real job with our normal company, the one I was hired to do, managing Information Technology and network and database administration. Have a good day - Tiger, don't forget to take the duct tape off the kids mouth! |
Make me a Tshirt! I survived haircuts and colors with 2 boys! Isn't something wrong with that picture...I always imagined boys and DAD going to the barber.
I was trying to grow my hair out. was. DH said it looked nice, so that's all that matters.:) I also got a couple "foils" to touch up my color. Youngest son only got a cut, but his tips are still blonde and oldest got color...pulled threw a cap...youngest laughed at him the whole time. Sass, my boys are 11 and 6. The youngest is my nightmare right now. I have faith he will out grow it. Great job running! I wish I could have kept up with it. Do you run outside or treadmill? I think I might take my boys to the State Park today for a swim and hike if the rain the weatherman promises doesn't move in too soon. Silly me, making plans with the kids. :stars: |
Morning all -
DH turned the alarm off today and I gradually woke up thinking it was Friday. My first words of the day were Oh Darn! when I realized it wasn't. Still, got to work almost on time and all. Hmm, I missed Gripe day I guess I'll have to wait a month. :hyper: Not too much to say today - this week has been very NORMAL with nothing scheduled and no unsual activities - I'm enjoying it! Usually there is always something to change the spin a little. So... I guess I'll run away and try to finish all my work before lunchtime today. |
Damn! The old *itch (not to be confused with Jello's old *itch) beat me to the punch and she's leaving early today.
When is the next gripe day? OK - I need to strive to be the better person here. Cafe ~ working on embracing the ZEN of working with an annoying underperformer who snatches up any perk faster than you can say 'grab' ... once again... P.S. On the brighter side, all of a sudden it looks like rain outside. :s: |
Sorry you missed Gripe Day, Cafe but to have it more than once a month would mean we didn't have so many grievances that have piled up to really make us ANGRY - underpaid and underappreciated!
|
Hi Ya'll, my motivation isn't showing any improvement from yesterday. Just sort of trying to do things to look busy and not do the things that REALLY need doing. Put all my water bottles in the freezer this morning and forgot to take them out. Sooooo I'm setting here getting little tiny sips as it melts. It's like licking an ice cube when you're dieing for a drink of water. :sp: Why don't I go to the water fountain, you ask........ the thing has only been cleaned once in the 3 1/2 years that I've been here and that was by me about two years ago. NASTY!!! And my boss is on the health department board! ;)
Welllllllllll, guess I'll try to muster up some get up and go and do something constructive. TaTa. Jello, hope you're feeling better already! Report back to us ASA you can. :grouphug: |
Friday:cb:
17 Days until school starts! la, lala, lala  Beach yesterday was nice. Weather was perfect, rain never even peaked out. Stupid weatherman. The beach wasn't crowded, so it was easy to watch the kids. And, there weren't any super models hanging around to make me feel hidious. Mostly Mom's with real bodies and a few teens. Teens, by the way, who were quite chubby. I don't remember there being so many overweight teens when I was young. It really is an epidemic. Semo, I have visual of you licking condinsation from the water bottle trying to quinch your thirst. Cafe, sounds like you need to borrow Jello's voodoo doll. I'll collect some fresh toads eye and poop de' pup while I'm mowing today. Groceries again today. How's anyone else do it...buy what you are SUPPOSE to buy...get home without the JUNK? *give me strength* |
Morning, all... TGIF!
Tig, one thing I've tried is that if I want to buy something junky I have to MAKE it. Like I won't buy cookies but I'll buy chocolate chips - and then they'll sit in the cupboard for a month or more because I never want them bad enough to make cookie dough. Eventually, DH eats the chips out of the bag, LOL. It makes it harder to impulse eat? Also, if I know what I'm going to cook each day it is easier not to toss things in because 1) I have a list and 2) I don't worry about forgetting anything, thus the desire to trow something additional in "just in case" we need something to snack on is eliminated. Overall, though, DH grew up in a strict house with many kids on a budget - so seeing junk in the cart is foreign to him. We don't need that! kind of thing, LOL. So I'm blessed by him, he isn't trying to ADD anything... most of the time... and then he'll put something really wicked like Ben & Jerry's in there... I guess I've got SEMO syndrome too this week, hee hee. I've really had to force myself to go to each item on my task list. Soooo easy to waste time instead. Poor DH, neither of us wanted to wake up this a.m. and once I got up I'm afraid I was a little too playful, poking at him etc. and he got annoyed. A lazy day in Cafe land - - no bosses in sight. {{quilter}} you looked like you still needed a hug. :) |
Sorry to say, I'd be the one to eat the chips out of the bag. :s:
