Shock the system?
My friend who has lost 35lbs told me every once in a while you need to eat bad to shock your system.he says if your body gets used to eating healthy all the time with the same foods you will stop loosing weight.
What do you guys think is it true? |
I don't know that you'll stop losing weight (if you're eating at a calorie deficit, you'll lose weight eventually). But I do think that a meal of foods that you don't normally eat can help boost weight loss, but NOT if done frequently.
I, and others on this site, have seen loses after eating more than usual for a meal or something. I think it might help if done once in a while, but it's risky because a lot of people (myself included) are tempted to use it as an excuse to overindulge too often. So basically... Sure, once in a while it's probably good to eat an abnormally large meal while losing weight. But don't do it often and not if it will lead you to overeat afterward. |

There is nothing wrong with eating the foods in moderation that you love. I'm a strong believer in 80/20. Eating 80% clean and 20% whatever you want keeps me sane. I'm not sure if it shocks the system but it does make me happy because I honestly couldn't eat 100% all healthy foods the rest of my life. Sometimes you're going to want a pizza lol.

I have a cheat day every week as part of my weight loss plan, and so far it has worked for me. Everyone is different though!

You can vary your calories or carbs or whatever you're counting without "eating bad", don't get me wrong I'm certainly not against the treat meal or day. I know from my own experience the treating can get away from you, but also is very helpful to have something to look forward to.
I probably sound wishy-washy but just wanted to put out there that it is possible to keep your body guessing on the amount of food it's going to get while still staying in a healthy range. There's probably still a thread on the WW forum about the Wendie plan, which was about varying your points. I have always heard that it is not good to eat the same thing every day for many reasons. Best to all :sunny: Edited to add: don't forget, everybody's different, find what works for you, and don't quit! |
BS.
Exercise hard if you want to shock the system. Sure as f@ck worked with me! |
