Default Off days exercise=pigging out?

I usually go to the gym 2-3 days in a row. My routine consists of bouncing around weight machines and lifting heavy as well as free weights. Sometimes I take off days because I am sore, but usually I take them because I know I should. On the one day I take off oh my god my appetite.

It's like I am ravenous! But it's not hunger it's just a compelling urge for no reason, almost like I need to refuel. On days I do work out I tend to eat better. I am not counting cals or anything I am just starting intuitive eating to get me out of the diet mentality.

I always over eat on days I don't work out. It just happens. Am I the only one?

IMHO: you might need more protein to help feed your muscles. Maybe a protein shake can stave off your need to over eat.
