Smoothie Receipes Please!
Ok, here's my problem.....I cannot have yogurt at all. And since it seems like yogurt is a main ingredient in a lot of these smoothies, I have been hard pressed to find a receipe that didn't have it in there.
Does anyone have a smoothie receipe that they would like to share that doesn't have yogurt in it? Would be greatly appreciated! :dizzy: |
I use cottage cheese instead of yogurt, its more protein

Are you using smoothies as a replacement for meals? Do you need it to have protein or other nutrients? If so, a powdered type shake mix could be used and I believe you only have to add water to them.

I use coconut milk instead of yogurt

Berry Smoothie
I love this smoothie recipe from the book Eat to Live. The recipe makes 2 servings.
1 c. POM pomegranate juice 1/2 c. Almond Milk (Unsweetened) 1/2 c. each frozen blueberries, strawberries, and peaches. 1 banana 2 Tbsp ground flaxseed Put the juice and milk in the blender first, then add everything else and blend! I buy the frozen fruit then divide up the recipe into ziploc freezer bags so I can make them quickly in the morning. There are 222 calories per serving and it's delicious! |
Sweet! I'll try that!

I use almond milk for my smoothies, sometimes just water, instead of yogurt.
My smoothies consist of 1-1 1/2 c of fruit (strawberries, blueberries, bananas, mangos), either a 1- 1 1/2 tbsp of chia or flax(ground) seeds, and 1/4-1/2 c of almond milk (depending upon how much fruit is in the smoothies). They fill me up, keep me satisfied, and it's a great way to get my morning going! Also for the fruit I buy it fresh, clean, then cut up each type of fruit, lay it out on a baking sheet and freeze for 24 hours, then measure out the fruit and put into freezer bags. So when I'm ready for a smoothie, I just dump the bag into my blender, add the seeds and milk, then blend! |
Pink Hurricane- Great tip about slicing up and freezing it on a baking sheet first. It would definitely help with the fruits that have been frozen stuck together and possibly avoid that issue by using your method. Thanks so much!!
I definitely echo using a banana to make it a creamy consistency. I often make mine with a combo of spinach and carrots with 1/2 banana and 1-2 types of fruits (usually berries), half applesauce/half water and blend. So good. |
