I agree that it is totally personal. I weigh at least once a day... sometimes more... and WANT it that way even though people try to convince me I should weigh just once a week. And yes, the one I take note of too is the early morning one.

If you weigh frequently, though, you have to be able to accept the fluctuations... ups and downs... without getting upset about it. But then... if you weigh once a week and it happens to be an "up" day, I would think the same thing could happen. :)

Weighing frequently does not necessarily mean "stressing" over it. My weight loss has stalled drastically... VERY slow... during the past three months and I have had to accept that I might now lose a pound or two a month instead of a pound or two a week like before. But my doctors have encouraged me to stay right on the same plan I am doing (it is healthful and I love eating this way) rather than switching to something more drastic, so if it is slow, it is slow.

If I don't weigh at all, I would likely end up gradually letting the weight slip up again. Now if I have a day that is TOO high, I know I had best clean up my act a bit again LOL

People are different and react differently. My advice to the OP is weigh whenever you want. :)

I agree with everyone who says it's entirely personal.

The important thing is to not let the number on the scale rule your behavior - if seeing a number not to your liking makes you want to binge, then the simple answer is to stay off the scale. Because it's just as likely to disappoint you as to please you.

OTOH, if you are using the scale to monitor overall weight loss, with no concern about daily or even weekly fluctuations up and down, then weigh at whatever intervals seem right to you.

My opinion, for what it's worth (from someone who no longer uses a scale)
