Has anyone noticed an increase in (existing?) reflux issues with IF?
|
No, I have reflux and haven't noticed any change.
|
Been ignoring both my doctors (regular doctor and naturopath) over the last two weeks and focused more on IF. I'm down 7 lbs. I was trying to do what the medical people were telling me to do but it just wasn't working for me. I kept getting hungry, eating more and gained nearly 20 lbs.
So for the past two weeks I haven't been consistent at all with timing of my eating windows. I just ate when I was genuinely hungriest. I guess I have been a bit more intuitive about the eating as well. Some days I seemed to get by on just nibbling in the late afternoon and evening, other days my appetite seemed to need more food first thing in the morning. I kept to a low-carb Paleo diet. I ate plenty of non-starchy veggies and even increased my level of healthy fats. On my heavy weight training days, I increased protein a little. On days when the fitness plan is a low priority or just not that intense, coffee and cream were fine for breakfast. Seems to be working fine. My energy levels are fine too. There's a lot to be said for eliminating stress over food! |
Thank you KTucke7 for your answer.
Yes, in fact I think drinking water and tea like green tea can help to eliminate and to burn fat. Have you ever heard about the green tea from Java, an Indonesian island? Have a good day. Abbey. |
I've read a lot of things about a lot of different teas, but haven't seen anything that convinced me one was really any better than another. I drink Lipton ;)

I was wondering two things... did anyone else try it and have immediate and amazing results and also is anyone doing a feeding window in the morning? The window I am doing now is from 10 to 6. But that is the worst for me because that is basically when my boss works. So I would prefer to do like 8 AM to 4 pm. But I thought I heard that the morning was bad time to eat due to cortisol release when you wake up. |

@Abbey I think green tea is a good supplement to take for a variety of reasons, with fat burning being only one of them. I drink the tea and take a green tea supplement in pill form.
@Emma I had very good results immediately as far weight loss/maintenance. I don't do a morning window but from everything I've read the key is consistency more than the time of day. |

So I think I did pretty good my first week. I seemed to drop 3 lbs. Although I can't be sure if that was my cycle. But something I really suffered from all week, I was and am... spaced out. I feel a little like I am chasing my brains and almost have caught up to them, but not quite. Talk about brain farts. I have considered it could be the fasting.
Anyone else feel this way. |
@Emma I noticed the same thing. There was at least one more post after my reply. I'm assuming the author deleted it? Not sure.
I haven't noticed anything like you describe. In fact, I find that I am more alert. I don't doze off at my desk like I do once in awhile when I'm not fasting. Are you eating a lot of protein during your window or a lot of carbs? Carbs tend to make me spacey. |

Another thing I've been doing that is supposed to help reflux is that I have a T of apple cider vinegar a couple of times a day. It's really odd that it helps reflux bc it feels like the last thing you'd want, but it really works for some people. Reflux can be caused by either too much or too little acid and ACV is good if you have too little. I was convinced I had too much bc that's what it feels like, but I guess not. Is there anyone here who eats only once a day? I have been doing this as a regular thing lately, though sometimes I will have a snack 2 or 3 hours after dinner. I feel like I haven't seen anyone else say they do this. I hope it's not too extreme. I feel good... |
That is very similar to what I do. I have a five hour window, but that usually amounts to one big meal and a snack.
