Juice cleanses can be great when done correctly. I am not a dieter but I do juice cleanses often because they can be extremely beneficial.

I make my juices 75% vegetable 25% fruit. Green vegetables should be used because of the chlorophyll content. Chlorophyll detox the blood. I always add lemon because it prevent oxidation, meaning your juice will last longer. Lemon also alkalizes the system and it detoxifies the liver and kidney.

Know that doing a juice cleanse is work you have to constantly put the juice in your system because your body needs the sugar for energy. The calorie content is so low that you should lose weight while consuming a large juice as often as possible. Overwhelm your system with nutrients while giving your digestive system a break.

Hi...I'm new and really looking into the juice fasting/juice feasting thing...I was wondering if you tried it and if you had any success...

I have done juice cleanses for health but not for diet. So I have never noticed weight loss, I'm in my healthy BMI. I'm a nutrition student just trying to get some insight into what works for people and what doesn't work. I've heard alot of people have good results loosing upwards of 5 lbs and more within a week. People can experience detox symptoms a few days into the cleanse. This is very normal and should be expected but one could experience nausea and headaches. If you try the cleanse be sure to make and drink juices a lot of juice, you have to keep your energy up.

Losing 5lbs from doing a juice "fast" for a week is not uncommon... But the majority of it is water weight and not actual fat loss... and most of it, if not all will quickly return once the "fast" is ended...

Adding lemon! What a great idea! I usually never use any lemon and my juices tend to get all icky really fast. Sometimes I just can't drink everything I've made before it oxidizes. Great idea, thanks!
