Hi there! I will try to answer best I can. I am not a member but I have a freind who LOVES TOPS.
It is nice because you have accountability. It may cheaper than Weight Watchers but keep in mind you have a fee to pay as a member. My understanding ( I went as a guest of my friend) is that you pay to be the member but then you pay the chapter(where your meeting is held) a monthly due. Some of the contests are based on money prizes. For example, the people who gained weight that week had to pay $1. The pot grew and then end of month who lost the most weight got the money. BUT they made it fully known that those type of contests are voluntary and not mandatory.
They have contests, games, challenges. Stuff to keep you motivated. They might have weight loss challenges or exercise challanges. They give advice and information on weight related things. And you do have a weigh in which keeps you accountable.
Also, TOPS does have a program (weight loss) you can follow. It is based on the exchange program or you can follow whatever diet you choose.
Honestly, I would become a member if I had the time but the chapters around me don't have meetings that fit my schedule. The one meeting I went to as a guest, was fun. I felt comfortable and I felt welcomed. If you like Weight Watchers then you will probably like their meetings!!
