I know I neeeeeed more protein...

I know it's important. Today I had...19g. Through my whole day.

I can't stand eggs or fish. It's a texture thing. I do love cottage cheese but our fridge has a bad habit of not keeping things cold and we're on a budget.

Is there a shake/bar that anyone can recommend? Doesn't have to be super yummy I just don't know if they're really all that healthy or not. I've gotten conflicting views.

Have you tried quinoa? It's fairly high in protien and makes a good rice substitute.

Have you tried greek yogurt? It has about 20+ grams of protein for a cup, and I think it's super good. I recommend the ones with the side container where you can add fruit or honey to the mix (or you can just mix in your own).

Mix some greek yogurt and honey as mentioned above...then add some form of nut (walnut, pecons, almonds, etc.) for a double helping of protein.

Don't forget about beans...oh and beef jerky as a snack :)

peanut butter, whole wheat pasta and reg. pasta are really high in protein, almonds and other nuts, chicken and beans. Good luck.

Maybe you just need to turn the temperature in your refrigerator down a degree or two. I , also, suggest Greek Yogurt, my favorite is Oikos Brand.

Eggs and egg whites too :)

Oooooh and steel cut oats! Haha this is fun!

There's the Muscle Milk shakes that have 100 calories, 0 grams of sugar, and 15 grams of protein. You could drink one before/after your workout. I have had a hard time finding a good protein bar that's not loaded with sugar or isn't 250+ in calories. Overall, whole foods like nuts, beans, greek yogurt, etc., will be far more satisfying in terms of making you feel full. You mentioned not liking eggs or fish. Do you like chicken, ground beef, or turkey?

I recently started drinkiing a homemade 'latte' for breakfast. I got the idea from someone on a exercise forum

I scoop choc protein powder, 1 tea fiber power, 1 c milk {I mix this with a stick blender but not critical} then I add about 1/2- 3/4 c coffee and ice.

No sugar or creamer needed. Yum!

I do like chicken, I guess. I'm just not a big meat eater :x I wouldn't say I'm a vegetarian, because, well, I'm not. I just barely BARELY eat any meat.

This. I love quest bars. They're awesome

Greek yogurt is great too!

Eggs are still my favorite :)

Kashi Pilaf has 6g of protein per 1/2 cup serving and your full day's worth of whole grains. It's good for breakfast or as a dinner side. It's not much, but it's a creative way to sneak some extra protein in. I just discovered it the other day and I am in love with it!
