I chose 140 because a few years ago I got down to 160 and though I looked great, I really believed 20 more lbs would be perfect. Since I know I can get to 160 if I push myself, I figure why not go for that extra 20?

That being said, if I only get to 150-160, I'm sure I will be happy at that weight too

I added 20 pounds to what the charts say I should weigh for my height.

I consulted a website called My Body Gallery (I can't post links yet, you can Google it if interested). They have pictures with heights, weights and body types.

I chose 125 because it's what I weighed in college, even though I was at my peak physical fitness and thought I probably looked "better" when I was in my 130's or even my 140's

That being said... I'm gonna stop when I have the "look" that I want... and LOOK GOOD in the cloths that I want to wear... That's MY GOAL... not some number on the scale... I'm SO OVER THAT!!! I mean if you work your a** off just to achieve some number on the scale and then after all is said and done you're not happy with how you look, what's the point in that?

For me I want to see the number say "199" then I will reevalute my goal weight. I was 165-180 in highschool and I was athletic. I felt very comfortable. Right now I don't care what a chart says. I want to get in the 100s and then I will continue to let my body dictate what it wants. I will do the proper things like eat right, work out and if my body takes me to 150 then that is good too

As everyone's ideal goal weight will be different. However, a good way to determine your ideal goal weight is to calculate your body mass index (BMI).

Your BMI is a measure of how heavy you are for your height. To calculate your BMI, divide your weight in kilograms by your height in meters squared. A BMI of under 18.5 indicates that you're underweight, a BMI of 18.5-24.9 indicates that you're normal weight, a BMI of 25-29.9 indicates that you're overweight, and a BMI of 30 or more indicates that you're obese.
