5# InTwo Weeks

  • My son is getting married in 2 weeks. Wanted to lose 30 pounds. Was going to start Jan 1, then Feb 1, then March 1....you get it!
I have bought two dresses, love them both, but my body is still not where I wanted it and I have not decided which I will wear.

Well no way will I be 150# like I wanted but I think if I could at least do 5 pounds, I will maybe not look so bloated and maybe a little more comfortable in my dress.
My plan---lots of water, limit bread & pasta, no sugary desserts, try to walk some each day. So if I can stick to that, is five pounds reasonable? Thoughts? Suggestions?

I am so disapointed in myself. I love my son and I really wanted to look good for the wedding. I feel like kicking myself!!
  • Totally reasonable, especially if you up the water & limit carbs & sugar like you're planning!
  • Sure, but in my experience, I only lose that much by going low carb. For example, there's a diet called the 17-day diet (there's a thread on it somewhere in here). I did that for a week several months ago and lost at least 5 lbs. Based on what I've seen on various forums, most people on that plan lose 5-7 lbs. the first week.

Just know that when you go back to your regular plan, you will probably gain back most or all of that 5 lbs. With lower carb diets, people tend to let go of a lot of water initially, and that water weight usually seems to come back when they go off low carb.
