Replace Nutrisystem or Go Back To It?
I lost weight before, on Nutrisystem and it was great.
This time, I was trying it on my own, and I'm gaining weight instead of losing. :( I've been trying for months. I'm super busy. I guess Nutrisystem was so easy, but it really is expensive. I thought about buying on eBay for a few meals, but I'm finding if I pay for the system it would be cheaper. Those eBay sales are outrageous. I think what I loved about Nutrisystem was that I felt full after every meal. After eating the food, I didn't want any more food. I was totally done. Whatever filler was in there kept me full enough to keep my mind off of food. I'm wondering if I should just give in to Nutrisystem, because I haven't found anything to be cheaper that actually works that has that 'fullness' ingredient they add to it. Has anyone tried Nutrisytem and found something better or cheaper? I can't get the 'fresh' food systems as those are not cheap and they aren't available in my area. |
What sorts of foods are you eating now? My impression is that Nutrisystem creates that "full" feeling by providing lots of fiber. So you may want to chose foods that are higher in fiber.
Are you calorie counting? You may also just plain not be eating enough: starving yourself until you "fall off the wagon" and eat things off plan is false economy. |
If it works for you, you may want to go back to it. My only gripe with that sort of thing is whether it's maintanable afterward, since I doubt anybody plans to do Nutrisystem forever. You'll have to learn to maintain on your own, maybe you should just play with other ways of losing on your own.

I got over 5 weeks of food on ebay for $155.00 including shipping. I noticed that people also sell it on Craigslist so you might check there as well.
I am on NutriSystem, it's been a week today, On the plus side, the plan is pretty easy to follow. BUT... I do not find the meals at all filling. Actually I have pretty much been hungry the whole time! I finally added two slices of low cal bread and a 55 calorie protein shake today and feel slightly better. But unless I see amazing results on the scale I am going back to high protein after the food is gone. |
