Tums
 

Hey ladies and gents, I've noticed several of you mention that you are excited about not having to take Tums or Rolaids, etc., when you reach your goal or get in better shape. Why is this? I've always had a very sensitive stomach, but I've also noticed that the more out of shape I am, the more likely it is that I will get nauseous after eating.

I used to get heartburn on a daily basis. Now that I am eating healthy, I just don't seem to ever get it anymore. I have also read that losing weight helps with heartbun and indigestion b/c you don't have as much fat pushing on your stomach.

i cant wait to not have to rely on tums!

I can get really anatomical if you'd like, but basically fat in your abdomen pulls on your stomach in such a way that opens the angle between esophagus and stomach allowing stomach acid to "burn" esophagus, especially when lying down.
