Rules of the challenge are:
(1) We will post our stats weekly on Wednesdays, starting February 10th
(2) The challenge period ends May 31, 2010.
(3) We will motivate each other
(4) We will have fun!
Description: To start the challenge we will all post our weight loss goal by this coming Wednesday (5th), and then on a weekly basis we will post our (1) weekly cals burned; (2) weekly cals consumed; (3) cumulative % of goal accomplishment. So for number 3, if you lost 2 pounds after the first check-in date, and your goal weight loss was 10 pounds then your cumulative % of goal accomplishment would be 20% (simply put: current weight loss/goal weight loss). This way it doesn't matter if your goal is 10 or 20 pounds, it'll all be about how close we get to our individual goals. If you all want we could also take our weekly deficit, divide it by 3500 and compare our weekly target weight loss per GWF/BB versus our weekly actual weight loss for the week.
Example of Weekly Stats posting:
Deana
Weekly Calories Burned: 19,600
Weekly Calories Consumed: 10,500
Target Weekly Weight Loss: 2.6 pounds
Actual Weekly Weight Loss: 2.2 pounds
% of Goal: 22% (assuming my goal was to lose 10 pounds)
I look forward to taking this mini-journey with you all!
Your challenge host, Deana
This upcoming Wednesday is the 3d and the following Wednesday is the 10th. I need to know which week we are starting in order to do my goal! Also, May 31st is a Monday. Is our last weigh in that day or the Wednesday following?
Ok, I'm in. My weight goal is 150, I will of course post how many pounds I will need to lose during the challenge to get there when we get to the 10th.
I "signed up" on the BB/GWF thread so I should probably do it officially now! As I'm in my work busy season, which means 60+ hour weeks, and my workouts are currently shorter than normal, I'm going pretty conservative with my goal - I'll say 13lbs, which is an average of just over 0.75lbs a week. Knowing that I'll be traveling several weeks and eating many meals out (or in the office but brought in), I think that's a reasonable goal for me - any higher and I may just give up entirely, and that is clearly not the point!
Edited to add - my GWF is currently set up to 2,100 burned and 1,600 consumed, so 1lb per week loss. I think I'll leave it there for now and see how things go. 1lb a week would be great for me as I've always been a "lost 10lbs so now I can quit!" person, and this time I refuse to be that person.

I will join the challenge, but I don't have a BB yet. But it should be here by Friday or next Monday at the latest. My goal is to lose 17 lbs by the end of the challenge
Our first official weigh-in is the 10th. It gives all the new users a chance to get a few days worth of data and adjust their plan.
Also, we can make our final weigh-in on June-2nd, (31-May just seemed more ceremonial)
I did not realize there was a challenge forum. I will ask the moderator to move the thread there.
So does that mean our first weigh-in (with or without posting it) should be the 3rd that way we will know our beginning challenge weight and our first set of stats come the 10th? Or is our first stats going to come on the 17th, with figuring our starting challenge weight on the 10th? Sorry if this is a confusing question... I'm just trying to figure out what day I should weigh in on to get my starting challenge weight.
Also..... is wanting to lose 40 pounds by the end of the challenge too challenging???? That would be a little over 2 pounds a week. I'm leaning towards putting my goal at 40 lbs....or should I just stick to 30...any opinions?

I'm a little confused too, but I'm going to post my first "weigh-in" on Wednesday this week.
