The Pill and Weight Loss
 

I'm not sure if this topic has been touched on or if I put it in the correct subject...

3 years ago my then fiance was deployed and I chose to stop taking the pill. With little exercise I lost about 17lbs. I have now been on the pill for the past two years and have gained weight. I know it's not just from the pill, but now I cannot get the weight off. So 3 weeks ago I decided to go off the pill again and see if that helps. My doctors swear up and down that the pill has no effect on weight.

What do you guys think? Do you have any experience or advice?

I went off the pill about a month ago after being on it for about 7 years solid and I'm definitely noticing a difference in some things. I'm a lot less hungry in general, and I have fewer cravings for sweets than I used to. I do seem to be losing weight faster, although it's so hard to say if that can be directly attributed to the pill or not. A lot of these things happen to me as the weather gets warmer, plus I'm making more of a weight loss push since my wedding is getting closer.

I always gain about 5 pounds on hormonal BC within a few months. I was only on the nuvaring for 4 months and the pill for 2.5 months and in those short times gained 5 lbs (two separate times). We use the NFP/charting method and it works great for us for both TTC and TTA.

I have taken YAZ for the past 3 years and when I first began taking it I would say I noticed a more significant speed of my weight loss, it also eliminated my acne for good. I know that different people react differently to all forms of birth control. I really like taking YAZ though.
