Fiber increase and weight loss?

  • Right now I'm so happy I can barely contain myself.

As I posted in the thread, "Sewing NSV," I have just completed sewing a skirt, tried it on, and found it was still too big for me even though I took it in approximately two or three inches while sewing it. While I was trying it on, my husband observed that certain other garments I was wearing were also getting baggy. And I've been wondering if my skin isn't hanging a bit loose lately around my lower abs.

I measured and discovered that I have shrunk three inches around the biggest part of me, which in my case is my lower abdomen, slightly larger than my hips. The biggest part is the most difficult part to lose from, isn't it? I'm also down four inches at my waist, which is where the skirt is still too loose.

I don't own a scale, and not having access to one, I haven't weighed myself in about three months. I don't know what the scale would tell me, and honestly, I'm kind of afraid to weigh. Despite other evidence, I fear that the scale might tell me I haven't lost pounds after all, or maybe even gained some. I have no real reason to fear that, but I do.

I'd been stuck in a rut for a while. What seems to be moving things? Well, because of another medical necessity, I started taking a daily fiber supplement. Really, that's the only thing I can think of that's changed recently. I am still limiting carbs and exercising within my physical limitations. This was maybe-just-barely-shaving some weight off of me before. Up goes the fiber, and suddenly whomp, something has definitely started happening.

What do you make of it?
  • My DH has been doing a lot of research and mentioned something about fiber and weight loss....I'll have to look into it! Good job!
