The Flat Belly Diet

The title says it all! I was wondering if anyone else here had tried or is trying the Flat Belly Diet (here). I'm starting out on day one tomorrow and I will not be following the four day jump start exactly (but rather subbing a few things which they say is alright later in the book for the actual plan) due to the time of year it is (tomatoes just aren't budget friendly right now!). I'll also be editing the plan later on to a 1300-1400 calorie plan while still using the basis of MUFAs and their B/L/D (1600 calories is a little high for me!).

So, have you done it? Sucess or did you move along to another plan?

I don't know anything about this diet, but been thinking about looking into it. Just curious though, how do you know 1600 cals is too high for you? You'd be doing your metabolism a huge favor if you could eat that many cals and still lose. For what it's worth I'm zig zagging 1600-1800 cals and having great success with it and have been at that level for months with no plateaus. Less than 1500 leaves me to hungry and I don't lose weight at anything under that. Just food for thought, we're all different though so whatever works for you is great. Good luck.

Historically through Calorie counting I've found that I lose 1.5 lbs to a 1lb per week with 1300-1400 calories. However, I might consider 1600 for at least a trial period as I have seen some people lose more while eating more!!

Thank you for your input!!

On a side note: Due to an unexpected work schedule change I didn't have meals packed in time for work and ended up just saying screw it and having takeout with the rest of the crew. So, no news as to if this diet plan works. However I do have some meals picked out from the meal plan already that I'm dying to try!!

I plan on buying the book this weekend. I'm grocery shopping Monday so that will give me time to buy the book, read through it, and make a grocery list. :) I'm trying it because it calls for eating a lot of nuts, and nuts help lower cholesteral and my cholesteral is high. I go back to the dr in July so that will give me time to see if it works! :)

I started the Flat Belly Diet 3 weeks ago, and I've lost 9 lbs. so far. I haven't exercised much, and I've still lost 2 inches off my waist. My clothes fit better and today (my 16th anniversary) I'm wearing my wedding ring for the first time in probably 6 months. :)

I started the FBD today and so far so good. I DID have a cup of tea this morning though because I can't deal with the caffeine withdrawl headaches when I'm home alone with the kids. I'll cut it out when my hubby is home so I can lay down when the headaches hit. I am doing the jumpstart. I didn't eat the tomatoes at lunch though because tomatoes make me break out in canker sores. Ouch!

I've been hearing a lot about this plan-is it a good plan to follow if you're a vegetarian?

thanks for any input
