weight loss and shoe size?
Silly question to anyone who has lost a lot of weight-
Does losing weight make your shoe size different? I would imagine that since fat is lost everywhere, that would mean feet too. If this has been an issue for anyone, I would love to know, so I can know what to expect.

Cool question. I dont know about those that just lose 20 pounds or so, but a while back, i lost 100+ pounds and i went down a shoe size in most shoes and in some shoes that were just too tight, they fit just right. Blew my mind the places i lost weight, just weird stuff like that, that you dont think about losing it.

I am the happiest girl alive. I went from an impossible-to-find 11W to a MUCH easier to fit 9.5 or 10, somewhere between a regular and a narrow width.
Given my prior issues finding shoes, when I went to get fitted at a running store at goal and she asked me if I normally wear a regular or a narrow, I, um, burst into tears. And then blubbered all over myself apologizing and explaining that I had always HATED my fat feet and having to find wide shoes.

I unfortunately have worn the same shoe size (10) at every weight between 285 and 160.
But, I also have ridiculously narrow, skinny feet.

Man, now I am worried. I wear a 5.5-6 now. If I loose a size I'll have to wear kids shoes!

Julia, it's really funny because my mom used to always joke that they weren't big enough since I'm so clumsy ;>
But it's so funny because I'm pretty sure most shoe stores only carry one pair of size 10s in the super cute shoes. One of my good friends in town here also wears 10s and so we always "fight" over who gets to be the buyer of the shoes and who gets to be the borrower!

wow, I didn't realize people would have such dramatic changes in shoe size, esp. going down several sizes overall, and not just in width. I've never had that big a change even at my lowest it's been basically just an 8 vs 8.5 and some shoes that are not comfortable at my highest do fit ok when I'm lower.
However, this time around, I am planning on going lower than I've ever been so it will be interesting to see what happens when I get there. I'm already planning on having to buy all new clothing but I hadn't figured all new shoes too!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed a difference in shoe size!
I usually wear 9s, went up to a 9.5 and have noticed that my 9s are a little on the loose side. So far, I was thinking it was because of wear and tear, but one pair of flats is only 6 months old! Ooohhhh... I can't WAIT to try on a pair of 8s. They always have so many cute styles in 8s.
