This is my last weekend before junior football games begin. Then I get to start fighting with the darn consession stand again.
I think we will probably be working on the downstairs. I have a piece of plastic taped to the floor right now. It's suppose to tell us if we need to build a subfloor. I can't wait to get my boys moved down there, not to mention getting a family room. And, the most excite'n...the iguana gets to move out of my livingroom when all this is done!!!!!He'll be moving into the boys old bedroom with the computer.
Grapes taste better than junk, grapes taste better than junk, grapes taste better than junk....brainwashing

Hehe, okay I feel better now. Now that I know that there is life out there. I figure if I complain, mayube ya'll will ocme out of the wood work. I am so jealous of both of you Tiff & Tig. I want a house so bad, I can taste it . I've lived in an apartment most of my life. I was too little remember to remember actually living in a house. I want my kids to have a place ot call their own. A back yard, and a little dog. When we get a house, I'll probably go crazy with the paint! We're not allowed to paint the walls, we can't have pets, we can't put up curtains, we can't do anything.

Come the heck on down to Illinois. I would swap a house in Illinois for an apartment in California ANY DAY!!!

The grass is always greener I guess. LOL

Home ownership isn't "all that". Somedays I think I'd like to jump ship, move to a condo where someone else is responsible for everything. Last winter was terrible. Our furnace broke down, then the water softner, followed by the lawn mower in the spring. It's always something.

I'm thinking I want to eat out tonight...not feeling like cooking. Maybe pick up pizza after ftball practice. Why does pizza have go be so darn fattening! I know, don't eat so much of it.

Tell me about it Tig. To both, the pizza AND the home ownership.

Our basement was flooding repeatedly and had to tear out the concrete patio back there and build it up and fix the drainage and all that crap. That was only the tip of the mess in the backyard. We have roofing issues right now too.

I just liked renting and then I could call someone else and complain. LOL...Now I have no one to complain to. Except you all!!!

Tiff
Who had pizza for lunch. 2 slices of thick crust with sausage and mushroom, and a fuit and yogurt with NO granola for breakfast. I guess I am done for the day. *sigh*

Let's trade Tiff. We have a dinky 3 bedroom, with no room for anything. Half our stuff is in storage. The maintence people that work, don't take any pride in their work. Before we moved in, they painted. Yeah, they painted alright......I'm talking they painted over thumb tacks in the wall, lint on top of the doors, splashed it on the cupboards! They took off the blinds and when they put them back they put the half stings on some of the long windows and vice a versa. They gave the fridge in that apartment to our neighbor. SO we got their smaller one, and they had to take the handle off and put it on the other side. So at one point the door actually fell off. They pipe under the sink was leaking. The roof has a leak, and we live downstairs! They came and looked at teh balloon hanging from our cieling and then said they couldn't fix it until summer. DH was trying to put up our coat rack and hit a water pipe in the wall. 5 hours later someone came and put tape on it. That didn't work, it still went down the pipe and soaked the carpet. It took 5 days for someone to come out and then they replaced the carpet, BUT only in the living room. Then they had the nerve to say they were going to charge us. Trust me....that didn't happen. I had to tell them that if tey had fixed it right to begin w/ and didn't wait 5 freakin days then the carpet wouldn't have to be replaced! The burners are broken, should I go on .

Oh look at the time.....gotta jet......If I don't get back on, have a GREAT weekend everyone!

Default Altoid Sours...Oh My God

Dear Tiuffany:

I just love, love, love the lemon ones. And it is true they are never in the store long, although I find the conenience--mini mart types seem to have them but mine charges $1.99...oh to live and die in the very, very expensive Metropolitan NY area.

But aren't they just the best....they are so-o-o sour

How are you doing by the way....I am doing great since finding the site...thanks for everyone's friendliness and kindness.

Carol

Dead, you ARE alive, now if we can get BrighterDays back in here, we'll be set.

Ok, I am the biggest ******. I went to 2 Walmarts, Target, 2 Walgreens, 4 gas stations, 2 grocery stores and 1 Osco. I could NOT find my Altoid Sours. I was making my daughter insane, dragging her to all the stores in search of Altoids. She thinks I am a loser.

THEN....I went to the last Osco in our area, it is in kind of a run down area, and doesn't have much traffic...and LOW AND BEHOLD..... THERE THEY WERE. Nestled on their shelf, like manna from the heavens. I don't know what happened to me, I started grabbing the little round tins, piling them up in my arms and looking around for anyone stupid enough to try to fight me for this heavenly stash...no one was there, and I ran to the counter with my booty. She rang it up....

$21.19

What? OMG, I purchased $21 worth of Altoids. I was panicked. I may never find them again, they may take them off the market, whatever would I do???

So, I got in the car and my daughter says, "WHAT DID YOU DO?" and I told her. She looked at me like my face was on crooked.

Needless to say, I ended up taking half of them back. I kept 1 tin of Tangerine for Chelsea, and I kept 2 Tangerine and 2 Citrus for myself.

Oh yeah, my eating was good yesterday. I hate being a scale hopper but you know me. I am doing well and enjoying myself and I don't feel deprived. Could I lose faster if I didn't eat out as much? Sure...would I be as happy? Probably not.

By God, this thread is called "Doing our own thing" and I am doing it and doing it MY WAY. Will I get to goal? Sure will! Will it take about 2 years? Probably, but that is better than where I started and better than if I had never started at all!!

Well, I will be scarce today, our patio has been poured and they said we have to water it down every 10 minutes, ALL DAY LONG. What the ??

So, I will be in the backyard weeding and doing some gardening and spraying concrete all day long.

Talk to you wild girls later,
Kayla, I am jealous. You are so busy!!! Busy having fun, and that is important. I am just busy with crap I wish I could hire someone to do!!!

See ya!
Enjoy your beautiful weekend!

Tiff that is TOO funny, I probably would have been too embarrassed to return them. Guess I'll have to look for those, I like the listerine mints the little ones that look like little sheets of paper that melt in your mouth. BOY DO THEY PACK A STRONG TASTE. But actually they are good when you want something and don't know what. Could be that you wouldn't be able to taste anything anyway after using one.

I'm cleaning today and starting a pot of the soup. We went out to eat last night and I picked up everything afterwards. Meant to get some exercise pants for yoga class and forgot it. I want to get some of those stretchy ones and then wear a big t-shirt over them. How sad is that worrying about what I'm gonna wear. UGH.

Okay back to work on this house. I've heard that dust is really good furniture protection......wonder how deep they were talking about.

Bye Ya'll

Sneaking in for a minute. The reason I think I like the Altoid Sours so much, is that they are so freaking sour, they wipe out the craving for anything else.

Like for lunch, I was fixing the kids Hamburger Helper. (I never said I was a gourmet cook) anyway, the urge to taste it was overwhelming, and if I taste it...then I will have a bowl of it. And I didn't want to do that. So, I popped one of the Sours in my mouth and boy did that wipe out that craving in a hurry!

LOL,
Tiffany

Default Hey

Hey,

I heard someone calling my name.... I'm still here but having a few ISP problems again. This is the third time I've tried to post on here today- it disconnects me without warning so I'll make it short.

Tiff- You should be the marketing rep for Altoid Sours---what a sales job! Makes you want to go searching for them just to find out what's so great about them! I'm still looking....

Kayla--sounds like you are having loads of fun and that is the way it is supposed to be at 15! Kudos to you for the walk/jog/ run---the pounds will melt off.

Huntress--I've been watching the news, I hope you are safe...it looked like Galveston was fairly safe but alot of rain came down.

Dyan--I hope you do get your house eventually but you know what they say "home is where you hang your heart". I rented for quite a while and then bought a house. I wish a handyman came with it, but no such luck! I find myself looking at "do it yourself handyman" books now in Barnes and Noble so I don't have to pay so much for everything!

Well, I don't trust my connection tonight so I have to say bye. Hope all have had a good weekend.

Good night,
"Bright"

Morning All.........

Brighterdays - I am fine.........the TS just skirted us. We had some wind and rain, that's about it. More connection problems? My son has problems with his too, total aggrivation.

I haven't posted much lately because I simply don't have much going on. My weight has not gone up but I'm not doing all that great. Sometimes life gets too crazy and it's difficult for me to focus on doing all the things I know I should do. I am recommitting on Monday. I need this weekend to rest........physically and mentally. I am ready to get back on track and get this weight off!

Hope you all are having a great weekend.........
