Listen to Huntress....we all know that she just wants an excuse to go ZOOM in her new car!

I'm feeling really sad today, had to put my flag out this morning and just get to emotional to even watch all the specials on tv today. I didn't know anyone that this terrible thing happen to directly but still this just really upsets. Think that I will skip watching tv today.

So is there another challenge for three point days or just the Halloween challenge, I'm confused. :dizzy:

Speaking of boobs, I've got to make my mamogram appt, Dr reminded me yesterday to get that done. My girlfriend and I go together then shop afterwards, (buddy system). We so lovingly call this the BIG SQUEEZE day. We make our appts later in the day so we can go buy something for ourselves. You know to help get over our pain and suffering.:o

Okay I need to get to work, good thing that this is our slow time of the year. We get really busy in the spring and then for a short while in the fall. Winter days are long with not much to do, guess I'll have to quit when spring comes....how else can I keep up with this thread??

Tigerlily 09-11-2002 10:57 AM

Good Morning. It's a better day today. Electric problem all worked out, and we didn't burn down during the night. Wouldn't ya know it, it's 65degrees out, don't need the a/c today.:p

I'm feeling like a squirrel brain again. I just hate check books. About once every six months, I have to mess it up real good.:dz:
I have check numbers messed up. My solution is usually just to let everything clear and not use the account for a week or so. I'm ok with that, but hate letting DH in on the secret.:^: Although, he isn't willing to take care of the finances or even help....so, he shouldn't be able to say anything.:snooty: I'll have to take out cash today to get me by until things settle. Squirrel brain I tell ya.

I'm really hyped about reaching the Halloween mini goal. :cb: This chick wants some new clothes!

Is every one wearing red, white and blue? I dressed my boys in red, white and blue today.
Have a great day!

Tiffany123 09-11-2002 11:15 AM

Good morning ladies. Happy (?) 9-11 :(

I want today to be a day of hope and reflection, and a day to remember some extaordinary people who were able to show great courage and true patriotism when we needed it the most.

I want today to be a day of looking forward with hope and a positive attitude, instead of looking behind with sadness and grief.

That is what I want, but very hard to do, as I got into the car and heard a poem about how on September 11th, we were once again reduced to children and looked to our childhood heros, the policeman and fireman to save us and make us safe once more. And I burst into tears. I try not to watch the shows about the "events" of that day, because it makes my soul feel heavy and hopeless. I try not to imagine the sadness of friends, families, co-workers, New Yorkers, etc...because I don't think I could understand it. If my grief is this great for people I don't know, and a place I have never been, I can only imagine the black hole of despair that people close to it must have been and still are experiencing.

So, now that I have brightened everyone's day, I will move on before I crawl under my desk and suck my thumb and rock all day.

Ok...as far as the challenge. Halloween challenege started the 8th of September and will run through November 2nd. Everyone can post their beginning weight at the beginning of the challenge, and their goal, although most of us have it in our sig lines. And we can post our weekly weigh ins. Choose your own weigh in day. Mine will stay on Tuesdays for convienence. I will start a new thread for that, as well. We will be responsible for buying ourselves a treat for making goal, and for those of us that don't meet our goal, we will hug you and comfort you to the best of our ability. (And maybe give you a wedgie, so you better meet your goals!!!)

As far as the next 3 point a day challenge. That will start October 1rst and run through through October 31th. Nice and simple. (Unless their are objections.) No one is FORCED to participate. Only do it if you REALLY want to. You have a couple of weeks to decide if you want in on it.

If that idea sucks, feel free to make other suggestions. I will be thinking of other contest-type things we can do to make it fun and keep it interesting. :hyper:

Ok, moving along to the next order of business. I went to the dentist this morning before work. Have another appointment tomorrow to have them dig out the crap in there and start building it up for the crown they will have to put there. They will be numbing me up, thank God. So, I will update on that tomorrow afternoon. Like anyone cares about my crown. LOL....It's BIG NEWS!!!!! :nose:

Ate well yesterday, and felt positive about myself. I DID eat the egg roll, (Mike was nice and brought me one anyway) and I was able to figure it into my calories/Points for the day and still came out ahead. (The three cookies and glass of skim milk I had at 3:00 am, went on todays sheet as breakfast! LOL, I have to be honest, I like to pretend that anything I eat between Midnight and 6:00 am doesn't count. So, I am working hard to be honest ALL hours of the day.

Jo, yes, you can pick your weigh in day, and good luck tomorrow! Sounds like your vacation was simply heavenly, I'm sure you needed it.

Kayla, slow your butt down, girl. You are like a tornado through here!

Semo, I still haven't seen that raise in my paycheck yet. WHAT'S THE HOLDUP?

Dyan, way to go on the smaller legs. My mother pissed me off last time I saw her. She was peering at me kind of closely, and I asked her what she was looking at. And she says, "Yeah, I can kind of tell you lost some weight. You look like you have settled into your weight now. Maybe you are ready to go to the next level?" :chin: :headache: WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT MEAN? I wanted to say, "Woman, I AM taking it to the next level, and there hasn't been any time to SETTLE into my weight cause I keep LOSING it." "Now go drink your Slimfast and leave me the **** alone." But I didn't. I smiled and said thank you. And thought ALL kinds of evil thoughts.

That seems to be my recurring fantasy. Dreaming of the things I will do when I am thin. The people I will say and the things I will say. Mike dreams of what he will do when he wins the lottery or if he were to suddenly become invisible. I dream of being thin.

Hey LJ, if you figure out how to get more hours into the day, let me know! I think you just have to get up at 3 in the morning to get started. LOL

BrighterDays, your comment about hump day made me laugh. I worked once as a receptionist and Secretaries Day just happened to be on a Wednesday. The boss says, "Happy Hump Day AND Happy Secretaries Day. Does that mean this is Hump-Secretaries Day?" I was mortified. LOL But strangely turned on. He was quite the hottie!

Tig, glad your AC is fixed. That REALLY sucks to be hot.

HEY, where is DEAD? She is scarce these days.

Ok, I guess I have rambled long enough. I had better get busy!
Love you guys,

Tiffany123 09-11-2002 11:17 AM

Tig, we are all in Red White and Blue...the High School encouaged the kids to dress in it too. It's nice seeing all the people on the street wearing it!

[email protected] the cool temps today. Doesn't it just figure?

Off to start our new thread!

DNW 09-11-2002 12:07 PM

Hi All:

Quick hello and lots of love to all. Today sucks in NJ...in our larhge corporate conference room we have huge screen that has the TV on and projected. In NY they have been reading the names of the dead since 8:46 AM. I just cannot listen or watch anything today or I will start crying and not stop so I am diverting til I get to church tonight.

Also food HAD been good until I got home last night and got pissed because Deadnurse himself wouldn't help me put Petromalt on the paws of Rosie, our cat. She threw out mightily yesterday mornng and I suspect hairballs, Bob as usual wanted to procrastinate until this morning so I called him many #%@#*@XX and screamed and yelled and then ate a bowl of pasta...yeah that helped...I showed me alright! Anyway I apologized because he would never, and has never ever sworn at me in 12 years and I can really be abusive with my mouth...we have the therapist tonight so I will gain some insight then....basically though I was exhausted and tired and sad...I took it out on him....this man really loves me....no one else would put up with that....I will have to remember last night the next time he raises his voice...which is about as bad as it gets with him...the man's a saint....all be it a sloppy one!!

Love and thanks for listening

huntress 09-11-2002 01:50 PM

Hey, can you believe it........I actually was able to get on this computer at work today. I don't want to be here at all, it is very quiet and I'd much rather be at home with my family. I am dressed in the red white and blue, wouldn't leave home without it on a day like today. Our little neighborhood is swimmming in flags, they are everywhere you look.

On my way to work this morning I was listening to the radio and they mentioned something about how the kids in school today do not recite the Pledge of Alegience. This is such a shame, makes me wonder if their generation will be as patriotic, if they even know the words.

Semo - I had a mammogram last year, what a drag, then had to go back for an ultrasound. They found a small cyst with fluid in it but the surgeon decided to leave it alone, said it was not cancerous. I guess I should make another appointment since it has been a year already.

Carol Ann - one of the most difficult things to learn is not eating for emotional reasons and we all do it. Give yourself a break and just move on.

I don't have any idea what to use as a reward for the challenge, anybody have any new ideas? My reward as far as I'm concerned will just be getting another 10 lbs off this old body.

Ooooooooo, this computer is acting weird, thing I'll get off before I lose my post. The arrow is moving all over the screen like it's posessed or something.

Love you, god bless you all

Tiffany123 09-11-2002 01:54 PM

Carol Ann, I remember a time when I fought with my ex and I was so mad I threatened to eat a whole pie. He was always on me to watch my weight, so this was a big deal. I just so happened to have a pie on the counter that I had bought for a family get-together, and he kept arguing with me about whatever it was that we argued about...so I walked over to the pie and picked it up, and walked into the living room with it, and he was yelling at me to "put the pie down" and "don't do it" and I sat down with him trying to grab it away from me, and I just starting cramming handfuls, literally, in my mouth. Just to tick him off and plus, it felt good. LOL...

So, imagine my shame when I think back on the day I ate the pie with my hands just to piss off my boyfriend. LOL....

Jeez...emotions will make you do some weird stuff.

Tigerlily 09-11-2002 02:33 PM

Howdy Chickies!
I'm at the library...fetching books on how to finish the downstairs. I hope one of them contains the magic answers.

I'm having a great day with the food and water so far. I just might have to exercise when I get home and make it a great day overall!

Dyanm1 09-11-2002 03:03 PM

Did ya'll notice the new faces on the Halloween Challenge thread?! Cool huh? :D . I know, I'm such a geek.

I hope every one is having a super-dee duper day! I feel like singing in the rain. :dancer: :rain: . Okay, it's not raining. It's a nice 80 degrees outside. But I do love those old movies, lots of singing and dancing and no violence!

What are your 3 favorite all time movies? (Just trying to get know everyone a little better). Here are mine:

1. As corny as it may be "Grease"
2. "Corrina Corrina"
3. "White Christmas" (Watch it every single year! Just can't get enough singing and dancing :hyper: )

Like I said.....I'm a geek :smug:

P.S. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year.....sing it w/ me! :gift:

Dyanm1 09-11-2002 03:12 PM

Okay, I'm back and bored senseless. I need someone to come talk to me. I feel like I'm going bonkers :dizzy: , I need some serious help.

:cb: :cb: :cb:

Tiffany123 09-11-2002 03:23 PM

Hmmm...My three favorite movies of all time?

1. Shawshank Redemption
2. Forrest Gump

And a tie for 3rd!

3. Rudy
3. Field of Dreams

Tiffany123 09-11-2002 03:25 PM

Hmmm...singing and dancing huh? Takes all kinds. LOL

My daughter LOVES Grease and Dirty Dancing...so she would fit in well at your house. As a matter of fact, maybe I will send her there. :D

Cafe976 09-11-2002 03:44 PM

Cafe, nothing much to say today. Too lazy to do all my shout-outs but believe me I'm thinking about each of you. :goodvibes:

I feel like I'm coming down with a cold and I have lots of things to finish today because I figure I'll skip tomorrow if I don't feel well. Plus, at work everyone is so emotional about 9/11 (seemingly without questioning the larger issues?) that I figure it's a good day to keep my mouth shut!!

I do have to admit to you that I took the text of the speech that our CEO made on the intercom today off our website and ran it through an online dialectizer with the setting on "redneck" and emailed it to my evil buddy for a good laugh.

OK, I'm bad.

Hugs around!

~Cafe, cynical and full of opinions and probably crass mostly because my nose is runny and my throat is sore.

Dyanm1 09-11-2002 03:53 PM

Tiff ~ Did ever read Shawshank Redeemption? I am a Stephen King freak! I think my favorite all time book of his was "Rose Madder". It's about a woman whose DH is a cop and abuses her, so she escapes to a small town tries to pawn the wedding ring that he made her turn inward (the diamond) so no one would try to rob her ~ come to find out that it's a CZ and so anyhoo, she ends up getting a picture and somehow ends up inside of it. Very good book. I won't spoil the ending, just in case...... Some of his stuff is just plain boring and uneventful. What was up with....crap can't think of the name of it. It had "Penny" that freakin scary *** clown in it. Oh yeah, that movie "It". That was such a lame ending. I read the "Green Mile". Okay, I could go on and on. I've never seen Rudy. Although my highschool band was in the movie. I guess they played in a parade or something. Like I said, never seen it, so not sure. ****, I could even be thinking of a whole nother movie that our band was in. I love "Stupid is as stupid does". There's a Bubba-Gump shrimp place in Montery. I've never been inside, but have gone past there a few times.

I think your right, your daughter would fit in nicely at mi casa. Adriana (the 9 year old) also loves that movie. I even had the 2 record album, until my sister got mad at my brother and broke one of them over his head!! So now I have it on CD. GEEK (that's me) :D

Jello 09-11-2002 03:56 PM

 Dyan has such happy and "good" movies. My personal favorite: Arsenic and Old Lace. Gotta love Cary Grant in his younger days. You know the movie. The 2 sweet little old ladies keep killing people. Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Dyan, you're not a geek. Well, unless you really want to be one. :^: Maybe it's not such a bad thing? I saw the newbies on the Halloween challenge thread too. I think we should invite them over here to chat. Hm, perhaps we'd scare them away?

Well, girls. The other "phone girl" once again pulled her disappearing act and I'm all alone on phones this afternoon. Fortunately, my boss needed to talk to her and came back to me asking where she was. Then he got all fired up when I told him she just left (apparently didn't ask anyone's permission or anything). I ended up telling him very calmly that if he was going to insist on screaming at me because the little princess wouldn't bother to work a full day, I was simply going to have to quit. Ooh, it was actually very comical how I said it so calmly and quietly. At first, he thought I was kidding. The look on my face told him I was not.

Another guy chimed in with the information that he'd accidently seen the princess' time card after she snuck out early last time and that she had written 8 hours for that day. Um, falsifying time cards is grounds for immediate dismissal here ... not to mention illegal, I believe. Will bossman do anything about it? Probably not. What a wuss.

I apologize for venting on you guys but having to pee gets me irritable....

On to happier things.....

Tig, if you find any wonderful ideas in those books, send them my way. The kitchen is STILL "almost done" and the downstairs still looks like a war zone. I'm thinking of trying things like sponge painting on the walls but will practice in the spare rooms upstairs first. Could be a frightening thing.

Nurse, you're like me. Close to NY. Too close. I'm wedged between NY and the site of the plane crash in western PA and close to Philadelphia. Someone on the radio said that Philly might be a possible target for some lunatic. Kinda scary. :(

Well, I said "happier" things, didn't I? Uh, I've been good today. Plenty of water. Had a 6" turkey sub from Subway (no cheese, oil or mayo) for lunch. :T Just have to be good during the at-home "danger hours".

Stay tuned.

SEMO 09-11-2002 04:08 PM

Works been steady today so not much play time. My most favorite moviie is CHRISTMAS STORY, about the little boy that wanted a b b gun and everyone told him he would shoot his eye out. I love it...I love it... it's a must that we watch it at least twice every Christmas.

I ordered DH's Christmas gift today, I am good, what can I say. Anyway one of the shopping channels had a special on feather bed toppers. I ordered him one (of course I get the benifit of it too) because he talks about sleeping in his grandmother's feather bed when he was a little boy and how grand it was. Hope he likes it. Maybe I'll have it paid for by then too, added bonus.

I've done okay on food today but not water or exercise. I need the three point challenge to start soon........

Tigerlily 09-11-2002 04:32 PM

Movies...:chin:....Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. We watch that every year. And Christmas Story, love the bunny outfit! Twister, Fox and the Hound....also watch Dirty Dance'n whenever it's on. And, I probably know all the words to the Grease Soundtrack. I'll be hum'n "Tell Me More" all day now.

I'm addicted to HGTV. Trading Spaces & While You Were Out. I wish I could see a good basement remodel. Guess I'll just have to keep watching until they air one. :D
Jello, I love doing paint techniques! I did our kitchen dark green with buff and mocha colored glazes on top. Looks like wall paper. So easy.

I better get busy. Darn laundry is breeding.

"we made out under the dock", "we stayed out 'til ten oclock"

Dyanm1 09-11-2002 04:53 PM

Ohmy gosh! How could I forget a "A Christmas Story"!! I love it. I love the pink bunny suit. bbbaaaahhhhaa. We watch it every year. I own a few Christmas movie, this one of course, Whit Christmas and It's a Wonderful Life (All classics!). We also have the Grinch (cartoon) and the Grinch w/ Jim Carrey (which DH refuses to watch! He said it's not the same and would ruin the original). Okie-dokie then.

Jello ~ I've never seen Aresenic and Old Lace. Although I do own "Whatever happened to Baby Jane". That is such a freaky movie. Betty Davis to totally scary! I also watched the Bad Seed. That was good. We watched it on AMC (American Movie Classics), Dh was whining, blah, blah, blah but in the end he enjoyed it. :D

I like those "happy" movies because they don't have a plot. Because once you know who did it, how many times can ya watch it, ya know? I did buy "The Sixth Sense". That was so good. "I see dead people" bbbuuurrrr, it gives me the chills.

Dyanm1 09-11-2002 04:56 PM

Tig ~ Tell me more, tell me more...... did ya get very far? Like does he have a car? shoop bop bop.... :smug:

Tigerlily 09-11-2002 05:28 PM

Phewy. DH isn't gonna get home in time to take DS to football practice. It's hard to take DS to ftball and make supper. Then, I end up eat'n too late....or eat'n the wrong thing. That's one of my big challenges....eat'n a planned supper at a decent time. :stress:

Our movie library consists of the kids movies....starting with all the Disney stuff, then moving on to stuff like MenInBlack and Harry Potter....Then DH has a few....Gladiator is his favorite. I have no movies that I can call my own. Pity Party.

Early bed for me tonight. Maybe I can snack now and skip supper. :chin: But, I'd still have to cook for the crew...then that always backfires.

Off to football. joy.

DNW 09-11-2002 05:35 PM

Hi Everyone:

Favorite Movies:

One Touch of Venus (circa-1953??? - Eva Gardner, Robert Walker)
Gone with the Wind (You know who's in this picture)
Magnolia (Tom Cruise, Juliann Moore, etc...)
The Green Mile (Fabulous, but Tom Hanks was only a small part of it)

Thanks for all the encouragement...I was good today and found FitDay.com, which is a great site for journaling foods....so much information....and very fast...

love you all for being here

huntress 09-12-2002 05:54 AM

Good morning

I couldn't think of 3 favorites but 2 came to me immediately.
1. Seven brides for seven brothers
2. The sound of music

I know, I know, but my mother-in-law has a thing for old musicals and I used to watch them with her all the time, realized that I loved them too! I also liked Grease & Dirty Dancing. Too many movies now have so much violence and blood and scary things for my taste. I am a total woos. Give me an old musical or a romantic comedy any day.

Well, I guess we all made it through 9-11, thank the lord almighty. We had a little scare here, an American Airlines flight that took off from Houston Intercontinental was turned around and escorted by 2 F16's back to the ground. There were 2 suspicious passengers that they thought had a weapon and the Federal Air Marshall's were on board. It turned out to be nothing, the 'weapon' turned out to be a comb (unbelievable) and the other guy just wouldn't stay in his seat. I was extremely upset and nervous while this was all going on. What a relieve when they finally determined it was not something serious.

So Anyways..........gotta go check on a flight for my oldest daughter who is in Hawaii right now. She works for an airline and has to fly stand-by so I will have to check the availability of the flight for a few days.

I am ready for the weekend, we are supposed to have nice weather and hopefully I can get out and about.

Halloween Goal - 185

Jello 09-12-2002 08:03 AM

Tiger, tell me more, tell me more, was it love at first sight....?? Actually, will it be love at first sight if I try painting my walls with some new technique. What's that about paint covered with glaze? Do you know of any websites on that sort of thing? Tell me more, tell me more....

Oh great. Now I'll be singing....

Nurse, I liked The Green Mile too! Actually, I like most everything Tom Hanks has done. Forest Gump. Sleepless in Seattle. And I loved Castaway. Maybe that's because I read about what Tom Hanks went through to film it. Had to gain 50 lbs. to film the first half. Then they took a year off so he could lose the weight (he lost like 60 or so) and then filmed the second half of the film. Hm, I want to make a film so I can lose 60 lbs in a year!!!

Semo, I'd forgotten about Christmas Story too! What a riot! Have to watch it every Christmas.

OMG, I just realized it's almost mid-September already! Hm, do you think we should all start thinking about what we're going to be wearing for the big Christmas celebration? Seeing people we haven't seen in a while? What new outfit that's been calling to us from the store window do we want to fit into? How thin will we be by then....???

I've been checking. I've gotten the flight to Vegas around Christmas down to about $250 and I think Bally's has rooms for $49 a night. We'll only have to take the 23rd as a vacation day. Rich wants to fly back on Christmas day :( so he can be back at work on the 26th. Still..... Scheming, scheming, scheming.... :s:

Need some tea. Talk to you later!

Tigerlily 09-12-2002 08:54 AM

Hello. I can't believe it's Thursday and I haven't been on the scale since Monday. Maybe because I was satisfied with Monday's weigh-in.

Wearing for Christmas? Ugh! I have a more trying event to get through before then. DH's company participates in a big RV show the weekend of Thanksgiving. It's in Louisville. I'm going with. People from his work, I have to have more than ONE outfit, CRISIS! On the plus side, the kids will be spending the weekend at the grandparents. :D

Jello, paint techniques....lots of home stores actually give demo classes. Also, wherever they sell the stuff, there are usually booklets w/directions. Glaze takes a while to dry, so it's easy to work with...wipe it off, put it back on. And, don't forget about the library....zillions of books on paint techniques. I haven't used those rollers made for techniques (yet).

Little girl should be here shortly. Still mad at myself for agreeing to watch her. Good thing she's a sweety.:halffull:

SEMO 09-12-2002 09:31 AM

Good Morning to All you Gals...

I went to yoga class and I loved it! Most of the women were my age and one man, think there were 10 of us in all. The instructor had such a soothing voice and I was a lot more relaxed than I thought I would be. Got up this am and did my ballAreo beginner tape, now my arms feel like jello.

Jello, Lowell's Home Center has all kinds of pamplets, on different painting techniques, free for the taking. I pick them up, but then I am afraid to try it. I think that I would like it but DH can be a stick in the mud sometimes. He doesn't like anything "different".

Another fav movie of mine is Fried Green Tomatoes. Love those Southern Gals.

Best get some work done.

GeTtInG_ThErE2 09-12-2002 09:52 AM

Hey girls!!!!

Well i cant stay long! gotta jet to school!!!! UGH its crazy around here!!!! anyways.....
Im pumped for the challange but i dont know what my weight is right now......i havent weighed in for a LONG time.....but ill check at the gym afterschool today.

I talked to my friends from camrose last night and I think on oct. 18th Ryan is going to meet me in stettler (an hour from where i live) and then hes going to take me back to camrose with him and im going to stay for the weekedn at my friend Lisa's who lives in Res at her universiy .... so it should be a BLAST if we can all work it out!!!!

So i desperatly want to lose some more pounds by then so ill look good when all those collage boys are around!!! hehe.......

Anyways......i hope everyone is doing good.......i absolutely love the fall...we like...already get frost in the mornings!!! its nuts! but were going to have a pep rally soon and the first football game is starting up.......i love it! school is going fantastic and im busy as can be!!!!

Anyways...oh yes...about september 11th, our school had a memorial thing and we talked alot about how treating others can make huge influences and change the world...even if its just one person it can change their world....i know that all too well.....anwyays.....

Its off to school i go! have a good day!

Tiffany123 09-12-2002 09:58 AM

Semo, glad you liked your Yoga class! I really need to do my exercise again. I am losing still, without it, but I really need to be doing something to help tone what is left as I am losing it. I don't want to be left with a bunch of saggy skin.

So...back to the grind. Get that exercise in. That is now even more difficult for me than the water. Who would have thunk it?
I guess since I am not a morning person, doing it in the morning is out of the question, and I don't get home until almost 7 in the evening and then there is SO much to do at home that it is hard to find time before I just fall into bed.

Oh, reminder to all of you, if you are not already doing it...TAKE A MULTI-VITAMIN! I have been noticing an increased shedding of my hair. EEEK! That aint gonna happen, girls. So, I did some research and found out that weight loss and anemia can be the cause. I have been anemic in the past, and I am very pale right now, and I imagine that I am currently anemic as well, so I went out today and bought some Women's One a Days. Maybe that will help.

You all probably already take your vitamins like good little girls and don't need reminded...but I am a DOLT and need some guidance!

Well, I have had three perfect OP days and I feel good. (except the exercise of course!)

Today might be good as well, since I have the dental appointment at 2, and I will be numb and hopefully not hungry. I am so nervous now I can't even think about eating, although I did buy a fruit and yogurt from McDonalds with NO granola, (that stuff adds almost another 100 calories!!! YIKES!)

Well, I had better get busy!
Later gals,

DNW 09-12-2002 10:17 AM

Hel-l-o-o Ladies & Dearest Kayla:

Kayla:I wish I was as happy as you were when I was in high school. You make my heart sing when you post. Never change!!

Tiffany: You are right about the vitamins. I take always and my sister didn't last year and she had lost 60 lbs due to illness and stress and also became almost completely bald. She is getting the hair back now since she is not losing so fast.

Semo: I can't wait to get to yoga again. I am really too heavy to do the poses I want to do now. But I am walking 4x weekly at minmum and lifting weights 3x weekly. So all is not lost.

Tiger: You'll be beautiful for Xmas just smile

Jello: I just want to be able to shovel snow since deadnurse (Bob the husband) can't because of blocked arteries. Besides he does enough around the house so it makes up for not shoveling. Lst yeat however we only had two inches of snow. Will North Jersey became the new Florida??????????

Huntress: I would be scared too, glad you got through yesterday...I just couldn't watch any TV or listen to the radio since I have been on the verge of tears, and then some, for the past two months, anticipating 9/11 again. I want to move away from here it's not good place to be next to NY

Tiffany123 09-12-2002 10:28 AM

I think I wasn't too afraid that something would happen yesterday, I think they would be STUPID to try that, I think they will wait until we are more complacent about getting through September 11th.

See, Friday the 13th would be my guess, if something was going to happen. :(

Crossing fingers and toes that nothing like that EVER happens again.

Tigerlily 09-12-2002 10:31 AM

Ekk, I don't take vitamins. I'll pick some up....fat and bald, don't want to go there!

SEMO 09-12-2002 10:32 AM

Hi Kayla, so glad that your school year is getting off to a good start. Now advice from Cyber Mom#2, you take some extra cash on this trip just in case you get stranded somewhere and have to take a cab home. Oh and for goodness sake wear clean underwear!:o

Tiff good advice on the vitamins but don't forget to take extra calcium and then throw in some vitamin b too. Begin taking care of your bones now with the extra calcium while your young.

D.Nurse, did you take classes for yoga? I would think that you could still do a lot of the poses but just become better at it as you lose. One lady went to sleep at the end while we were relaxing and she snored a little too. now that is what I call relaxing.

Tig, what am I missing out on with this new fellow? Give it up girl and tell us more.

I really have to get some work done. Ya'll are bad influences on me, naw, I'm just afraid that I might miss something.:nose:

Tiffany123 09-12-2002 10:41 AM

Tig? You have a new guy? Did I miss that? What did you do with your husband? :P

My vitamins have B1, B2, B6 and B12. WHERE ARE ALL THE OTHER NUMBERS? Why don't I have some B3?

BINGO!!!!!!!! Oh wait, I couldn't help myself. :D

SEMO 09-12-2002 10:49 AM

Oh thought I read Tig had something new going on.....SomeTimers. Sometimes I remember and Sometimes I don't. SORRY about that. Now I'll have to go back and find what I thought I read.

Tiffany123 09-12-2002 11:01 AM

Maybe you did Semo, I forget what I read, 2 seconds after I read it. LOL....

Just wanted to say "Job well done". The 1st 30 day challenge is over and we all survived!

I think starting the next one Oct 1st, is a GREAT idea. It will sure help w/ the Halloween challenge.

Not feeling well at the moment. My stomach doesn't seem to like me. I have no idea whats goig on w/ TOM. I thought I had started, but turned out to be a false alarm, and then it appears to be here today, but not really. Just a tiny bit. ARGH! What's going on? I feel like crap. Walked my 2 miles yesterday, but felt just plain run down. Everything was hurting.

It's official....I'm broken  .

Oh yeah, ordered some Christmas presents this morning.
Here's a website ya'll might like:

EVERYTHING is $14.99. Bought DD a ballet thingy w/ hangers for $8.97. Got Lucas a couple of car toys too. Also on Amamzon, they have free shipping on books if you spend $25. Just thought I'd share........

Tiffany123 09-12-2002 11:29 AM

Dyan, sorry you are broken. That kind of sucks.

Ok, I am STILL on this hair thing. Check this out!

How Hair Grows

Believe it or not, your hair is mostly made up of a form of protein—and it's the same protein you'll find in your fingernails and toenails.

Your hair has a growing cycle, and a resting cycle. Most of the hair on your scalp is growing, and it continues to grow for 2 - 6 years! The rest of the hair on your scalp—about 10% of it—stays in a resting phase for about 2 - 3 months, then your scalp sheds this hair. How much is 10%? You might shed 50 to 100 hairs a day—this is about average.

After you shed a strand of hair, your scalp replaces it with a new hair from the same follicle. Then the 2 - 6 year growing cycle begins a new.

At what rate does your hair grow? That, of course, varies from person to person. On average, your hair probably grows about 1/2 inch a month. But as you grow older, your rate of hair growth can easily slow down.

Here's an interesting fact: According to the American Academy of Dermatology:

"Natural blondes typically have more hair (140,000 hairs) than brunettes (105,000 hairs) or redheads (90,000 hairs)."

Dyanm1 09-12-2002 12:03 PM

Tiff ~ Your cracking me up  , I don't know, maybe cuz' I have TOO much hair (If that's possible). It's super thick and HEAVY. It takes over an hour to blow dry it and if I let it dry naturally, depending it could take hours or a few days. Yup, a few days.....go figure. I guess the grass is always greener....(I do have vites, just don't take them regularly). Ya kinda get tired of it, when you take them every single day while preggars (don't forget I was a pregnoid, for almost 2 years straight! had a 3 month break in between.

Okay....so now it's official. It's TOM....THANK GAWD, because I was starting to think that I was going bonkers :dizzy:, plus the scale went up this a.m. I had KFC, honey BBQ strips last night :T , but was still in range.

Hey:s: ....didn't a certain someone.....I won't mention names......JELLO.....supposed to go weigh in last night at the gym? So how'd ya do girlie? I'm wondering if it was worse than ya thought, as you didn't mention it in your earlier post.

Jello 09-12-2002 12:16 PM

Hair I am!! Huh? What? Hair a little, There a little.

It's official. I've lost my mind. :hypno2: So guess who "yelled at" the company president this morning? Just off the top of your head (sorry) guess. Yep. Me. I do so much around here for so many people, him included. I can do 99 things right and make one little mistake ... actually, he didn't explain what he wanted! ... and he's all over me.

Well, not literally. That would be ewwwwwww!!!!

Thanks for the hair info. Tiff. I take Women's One A Days every day. Makes me big and strong! :strong: It's funny though. I made myself a note this morning to call my hair dresser to make an appt. and now here you are talking about hair. Hmmm... Should I be concerned? Do-do-do-do.... (Twilight zone theme song for you who didn't recognize it.)

Dyan, actually I weigh in at the gym TONIGHT. :headache: I am so NOT looking forward to it. I've been off the wagon since Scotland and am just sitting here on my big butt waiting for the next wagon to roll on into the station.

Yep, just some big fat old bald crazy woman sittin' in the station....

Hey, I should write a song...

Tiffany123 09-12-2002 12:54 PM

Now I will be singing that hair song:

Gimme a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair!
Shoulder length, longer (hair!)
Here baby, there mama, Everywhere daddy daddy...

Ok, moving on. Jo, good luck tonight and good for you for taking your vitamins.

Dyan. You can stop bragging now about your fabulous hair. LOL

Hungry..time to eat my yogurt

Dyanm1 09-12-2002 12:58 PM

Jello ~ I'll let it slide THIS time :^: . I'm sure it won't be as bad as ya think. Don't forget you got lots of exercise. I'll be thinking about ya tonight.

Hey, so how much for a copy of your song?
