Sorry, I know that one came right out of the blue, it's just that my mom was listening to a CD and I haven't heard him in ages. I used to be in love with him! His music is great.

Regarding the next challenge...
I think a good goal for me would be to hit the high end of the normal range for my height. I think that is 174. That would be 15 pounds...ok...doable...right? Math...think,think,think....sept 2 to oct 31...9wks...1.6lbs a wk....gosh math hurts my head. Ofcourse, I could get a jump on that if I hold it together the next couple weeks.
Did anyone see the story on Jamie Lee Curtis? She did a mag story w/o any make up, push up bra, airbrush, nada. Nice to see something realistic...even though she is still skinny, she isn't perfect w/o the help of an army.

Tiff, I have the 3mile tape. I stop at 2miles a lot. Mainly because of the time factor. It does matter what you wear! Especailly with the knee raises and such. I was trying to wear my pj bottoms, but finally switched to a pair of leggings....god forbid anyone should come to the door when that is going on! Fear Factor, getting caught excercising in leggings. eekkk.

Sorry Tiff, I can only assume he was having a bad day, and was spreading the joy of it. After I talked to him I didn't want to have anything to do with him (so to speak). But my sisters MADE me watch "Hope Floats". I liked the movie, but still don't care too much for him, the booger .
Work it girl!! 2 points already, yeehhaaww. I have got my water down. Still need to go home and workout, then have some dinner. My aunt visiting from Minnieapolis asked how I do it? Not snack on the stuff in my house. I just bought 2 big boxes of Rice Crispy treats (30 counts each), from Costco. What? I had a coupon! I have no idea, how I do it. I did dream about those Rice Crispy treats last night. One of the boxes has 3 different types in it. Chocolate caramel, peanut butter, and some other kind. Just talking about it, is making me want one. I'll just have to check out the caloie content and go from there.
I have all 3 tapes, but am still working on the 2 mile. I'll probably go to the 3 mile when we start our Halloween challenge.
Tiger~ You can do it!! I believe in ya. I know that together, the 7 (I think it's seven) can do anything! We are strong !
Don't make me become "an army of one" hehehe . That's DH's favorite saying at work. He tells everybody that he's an army of one. He's such a dork!

Huntress ~
I went from answering the phones, which can be very stressful, as ya know, and became a sales admin. I worked alot w/ little pay. When I asked for a raise and they said no, I left.
They have since been bought out by Gibson guitar and no longer exist. neener, neener, neener , the big boogeries.

Do you guys know I get "neener, neener, neener" stuck in my head?! Like a bad song. And I'm scared I'll say it outloud. My kids would pick it up lickity split. That's all I need, a couple little neener, neeners in the house.
The other one that's been swimming around in my head lately..."get that wagon moving, raw hide".....you know, on the weightloss wagon.
I better go turn on some music! Bacon Brothers it is!

HEY! Has anyone had the veggie sub from Subway? I usually get a turkey with mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and black olives. But I was thinking, for 400 calories, I could have a foot long veggie. That might fill me up pretty good. Will I miss the turkey? Does it taste bland? Any thoughts?

Seems to me that with all that bread you would be full and not miss the turkey. I personally don't like sandwiches that much and come to think of it the meat is usually what is nasty. I do love bread though.
What are/is Bacon Brothers?
Do any of you have a buddy list, I didn't notice it before.

I'm here, I'm here!!!
I did read yesterday - before there was a HUGE BOOK! So trying to catch up today and feeling REALLY bad...
I guess I didn't post because I was funkified and knew I wasn't going to be UN-funkified just yet. But seriously, I was doing GREAT on Monday... until about 9:30 at night. I was looking for something important in my seriously disorganized house and watching TV at the same time and H still wasn't home and... well, what can I say except they're not kidding about the power of cheese. It took me over! So, I got a water point.
I might have gotten a food point yesterday - but I ate lunch in the cafeteria so it's almost impossible to count? I'll work it out today and let you know. Plus, I just plain didn't want to count. I actually had a regular Coke yesterday afternoon for no good reason at all!! Obviously I have a discipline problem on my hands. I can't really identify what's getting me either which is odd... Maybe I was just overfocused on the challenge instead of my overall goal of weight loss? I know it sounds silly, but I feel like I need to remind myself that this is really about my future, darnit, not about an obsession for depriving myself of good things! Duh, I forgot.
But I'm DONE. We are on the train to Motivation-ville, baby! Now that I've made a start at getting myself used to a whole new WOL I'd be a fool to give up now! I've got a lot of re-education still to come. No point dropping out at midterm just because you missed your last assignment.
Actually I think winter is a GREAT time to lose weight! After all, it should be easier because your body has to burn a few extra calories to keep warm right? And wearing all kinds of big comfy warm clothes feels kind of safe (if you can relate) and helps me feel like - I can skip the twinkie. It's dark outside anyway- I might as well go to bed or jump in a hot bath (instead of overeating.) Winter just seems more private, withdrawn and intimate to me - a good time to go ahead and focus on personal goals.
Can you tell I can't wait for autumn? It's my favorite season. The blast of cooler air just puts a spring right into my step. And the poignancy of the world palpably and inexorably changing right in front of your very eyes so quickly is - invigorating!
Maybe that's what's been getting me lately - feeling a little stagnant and frustrated with certain things in my life. Heck, all I need to do is get off my duff! But sometimes I feel discouraged and don't know where to start. So stupid, really, as long as you start your moving!
Funkytown, you're history!!!
Speaking of celebs - I'm an acquaintance of the guy who wrote the song Funkytown. Would you believe he's fat, bald, and Jewish?
Loved your posts ladies, will be back for more. Wish I could recap my thoughts on all of them - but that would be impossible.
~hugs and kisses~

Tif - I used to be ADDICTED to veggie subways. I mean I ate so many of them that I can taste it right now. On white bread, shame on me. What broke me was going completely off anything made with wheat for 1.5 years to help with chronic migraines. That was 10 years ago but I'd still mac one down in a heartbeat. (food allergies not a problem these days.) Oddly enough, have never got back into the habit, though. When I started to eat subway again they had come out with the turkey bacon - had to quit the job that was in the same building as Subway and now rarely eat it. Yummy!

Cafe, GLAD TO SEE YOU!!!! And you know as well as we ALL do, that we go through those periods where we eat things almost in defiance. But we all come out of it and get back on track. It wasn't too long ago that Jo was in a funk and not doing well at ALL, and look at her now. Kicking butt and taking names.
Anyway....glad to see we are all here and in good spirits!
Tiff
Hadn't noticed the buddy list before either. Let me investigate!
