Baking with the Children

  • Howdy,
This week, all 4 of the children are off from school/home school and it is baking week. None of my children have any weight issues at all- long and lean- and if I ran around like they do, I wouldn't have 20# to lose either:-)

How to handle the holiday baking without tasting into oblivion? The fudge, brown eyed Susans, Russian teacakes, Divinity, etc... These treats are not made or eaten at any other time of the year. Blintzes for breakfast on Christmas morning. I think I will need to eat salads at any meal I can to navigate this week. And extra walking to the park with the grand baby!

    What strategies do you use?

  • Howdy,
I have another one, I give the spoon and bowl to the kids immediately after baking- no tasting or licks just to see. It seems obvious what tasting that little bit of fudge costs but I had a sloppy habit of nibbles. I also entered calorie counts for my dessert treats and knowing those numbers really keeps me focused.
