Thank you Lana....
THAT'S THE BOOK!!!!
|
Hey there,
Lana, I'm glad you're back too. You contribute to the collective of ideas and information that helps us on our path.
We've talked about this before, but when it comes down to it losing weight is more about health than about looks. Thinking about health issues motivates me more now that it used to. I hate the thought of losing muscle tone. I have been able to kind of forget it for a while, but an article reminded me of that recently. It seems a constant barrage of information is good to keep these ideas fresh in my conciousness. I am going to be a daily weigher again for a while. That, too, is a point that is variable. Sometimes it is a bad thing to weigh so often but right now it is good. It has been too easy to let things slide while I have been ignoring the scale. I was down 1 1/2 lb. this morning from just one day of sticking to the diet. Carry on. |
It's Friday!!!
Congratulations on being down 1 1/2 lb., ledom. That's great incentive to sticking to your diet. A new 'do' really does give you an uplift. Have you gotten used to having shorter hair? You will love it in the summer. Mine is about shoulder length, but that's about as short as I'm comfortable with. Enjoy your new hairdo!
Lana, I also am glad that you have come back. Glad that your eating has gone very well. I can relate to the walking. I hope today goes as well for you. Hi Judi  Enjoy your weekend everyone! |
Hello girls,
YESSSSSS T.G.I.F!!!!!!!! Ledom ~ I agree that when you reach the 40's and beyond, our objective should be to remain healthy, so that osteo, hotflashes, heart disease etc... are kept at bay.... My mother stopped "watching" what she ate in her late 60's, and stuck with a "healthy" frame of mind kind of diet, and hasn't gained any weight, as a matter of fact has lost some, and her and my dad are extremely strong and healthy at 75.... I hope I don't wait till 60 to gain her wisdom...darn it all.... :D ... I'm going out tonite to get a scale, a digital one that I can see in the morning when I have my glasses on and life is a bit of a blurr...... my present scale with the needle, I cannot see at all...lol Well if I don't come back on the weekend, have a good one girls...our weekend is pretty busy... Later gaters... Lana.... |
Hi there!
We have had the most glorious 2 days...a lot of sun...no rain! I even have some windows open.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Yesterday I had lunch with a cousin, and I was sort of good. I did have a bison burger, w/fries, but I only ate a few and left quite a bit on my plate. We may have company later today. My GF called, she and her DH may be here around lunchtime and we'll go out to eat with them. Lana~Maybe we should all take a lesson from your mother. I would feel a lot freer if I didn't think about every bite I put in my mouth. Did you get your digital scale? ledom~Did you go to the concert with your D, if so, how was it? Did you happen to see the 50th anniv. of American Bandstand the other night? It was very good. I just added Flaxseed Oil to my vitamins, it's got the Omega 3's that are good for your heart, since I dislike fish. Take care. |
Hello girls,
Alice, I'm so glad you have had pretty weather this weekend. It does a lot to lift ones spirits after a long winter! Have fun with your company.
The concert is Thursday night, I did survive D's prom night on Friday though. Just up most of the night because I never sleep easy until she gets home. I'll have to give that up next year when she is living in the dorm! Oh, the changes that will bring! Well, I'm sure you'll here all about that when the time comes. Houseguests arrive next Sat., so I am finally starting my house cleaning today. judi, I wish help were in my budget - it just isn't. The good news is that I give my finals on Monday and I really don't have to go back next week if I get everything done tomorrow. I think I'll make sure I do! I will attend graduation on Sat. morning and that will be that for this year. I went kayaking yesterday morning w/ my gf that I was so mad at. I guess we have made our peace. We never discussed the 'incident', but I was very cool and she kept making overtures - I think (hope) she got the message that she needs to be nice to me if she wants to hang out. She was very pleasant yesterday. I'm glad, I do treasure many things about her. Diet? What diet? Friday people kept giving me food, kind of last day of school, let's party sort of thing. I was not strong enough to resist and the extra eating set me off again. Yesterday was a little better, today - well so far so good. Tuesday when school is out it will be time to put up or shut up on this subject. Hope everyone has a great week. Oh, guess I better start a new thread - see you at 87. |
