Friendship braclets
 

Anyone make these?? I used to make them when I was a kid, and I thought it would make good, cheap christmas presents. My problem is they keep spiraling when I am done?? Am I forgetting a step???

There are so many different patterns to use when making these, so I don't know if I can help you there, but you're right--they do make great presents! My DD made matching ones for herself and me for my last Bday. We never took them off. Well, never until last Sunday when mine broke. :?: She says she'll make me a new one....I hope I don't have to wait long. It really made me feel good that she always wears hers (she has two--I'm not sure who got the other half of the other bracelet).

You can try blocking it. By getting it wet, straightening it, tacking the ends down with pins to keep it straight, and letting it dry overnight. Sometimes that works. Sometimes they straighten on there own once you tie them on. It's been a long time since I made them, so I can't remember if there's other tricks. What a great gift!

I was always so jealous of the people who could because I loved them! I knew one girl who could make them *inches* wide. Beautiful.

I didn't have any friends in high school, so it was a mute point for me.
