I have 3 and I might get 1 more:^:
|
I have one so far. A heart with a red rose through it in memory or our baby lost, with his name across the bottom. I am one who if I am going to get a tattoo I want to see it. Not so much for other people but for me. I plan on getting two more eventually...one on my thigh and one on my shoulder...the shoulder one names of my hubby & kids linked in some kind of design. That's why I've not gotten that one yet, still working on a design. The one I will get on my thigh is a heart that is patched and sewn up.

I got my first tattoo in April, my 30th birthday present to myself! I want another one already. My tattoo is on the outer side of my lower right calf. It's a large open celtic heart within a heart design. In the center it has 2 intertwined S's.......my partner and my first initals. I love my tattoo and I'm so happy I had it done. It has alot of meaning for me.

Honoring a lost loved one....
I have gotten involved with a show called "Miami Ink" on the TLC cable channel. I am very surprised at myself because that show has me thinking about the possibility of getting a tattoo. But if I do get one, down the road, it will be a very small one. I am not going to rush into it, I want to think about it awhile. Especially after my nephew told me that getting a tattoo can be quite painful sometimes. He was looking at me in shock and he said he just can't picture Auntie walking into a tattoo parlor!
On the show Miami Ink they have a lot of folks coming in getting a tattoo to honor someone they love who has died. But most of the tattoos on that show are way too big for me. I was thinking about the possibility of getting a tiny "a" somewhere to honor my Mom's first name which starts with an A. For the time being I got myself an Initial Pendant with the letter "a". I saw one that I loved by Elsa Peretti on the Tiffany website that was way too expensive. But I found someone on Ebay who has initial pendants that look just like the Tiffany Elsa Peretti initial pendants but for a fraction of the price. So that is satisfying my desire for a small "a" for now. I am wearing it all the time now. As I said I am VERY surprised at myself for even considering a tattoo. I am one of those folks who always thought you had to be a Sailor who was falling down drunk to get a tattoo! They were always TABU to me! Never say never ;) |
I have 5 tats, so far.
I have one that needs to be touched up, and am hoping to do that at the beginning of the year. I have a large faery on my thigh, a dreamcatcher on my arm, a unicorn head on my right shoulder, and a viney/flowery thing with a pentagram, the symbol of Om, and the symbol for Chi (this one is my own personal artwork)-this is 2 separate tattoos put together. I won't post pics because I don't want to give people the chance to rip off my tattoos. I think I will eventually have a large portion of my body covered - however I won't do anything that can't be covered by clothing. I would love to have my forearms tattooed, but that just wouldn't be professional. I am a tattoo junkie... I'll continue to get inked, and I love to watch Inked and Miami Ink ... Someday I'd love to get tattooed by Kat Von D - she is great!! |
I only have one, but have a couple planned for the future.
My best friend and I have the same tattoo, in the same spot......very special meaning for us:smug: Here is a pic, the tat needs a touch-up (big-time) http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...004/tattoo.jpg |
