I highly disagree that 2 separate accounts will solve ANY problems - probably only create more (more mess to keep track of); it would only be a temporary band-aid but wouldn't really solve any problems. You need to have some serious discussions about this, about your future, about your goals, and how your financial spluring will impact all of that.
