Okay, so I'm on Match.com. I admit it.

Anyway, I get an e-mail today from this guy. To begin with, he doesn't match my "what I'd like in a match" description AT ALL. Mostly cuz he's SEPARATED (as in, not divorced yet), and about 20 years older than me. But hey, that's a (somewhat) normal day on Match.com (I got an e-mail 2 weeks ago from a 37-year-old who lives with his parents and said "I like pizza" about four times in his profile).

But I digress...

SO, I get this e-mail today from this guy...and he writes, "Wow, great profile, you seem like a really great person", etc., etc., etc., blah, blah, blah. So I go to his profile to check him out and it's all the normal blather about how he's a good cook and likes to walk on the beach at sunset, etc. He then writes about how everyone on Match.com seems so picky, and how we're all there wanting the same thing and we should all be more open-minded, etc. And then -- I KID YOU NOT, CHICKIES -- he writes "If you are over 145 lbs, sorry I'm not interested."

LOL, so I e-mailed him back the following:

Hi, _____, Thanks for the e-mail. I weigh 147 lbs. Good luck. You're gonna need it. - K.

Apologies to all the men reading this, but {{{rolls eyes and snorts}}} MEN!!

I especially like men who will only date women younger them. If they are 45, they will date 20-45 (or whatever). Just strikes me as so weird, you think that age would be a range! like...25-55 or something!

I've seen that.. and worse. Men stating that they aren't interested in BBW and then going on stating that women over a size 8!!!! are a BBW.

I think you were far too nice to him. I would have asked him how big his..... wallet was and if it didn't measure up, tell him toodles.

NAH! I NEVER PUT LIMITS OF AGE OR WEIGHT, JUST TOOK MY CHANCES. HOWEVER, I PLACED THE AD WHEN I WAS 39 ~ WHEN I REACHED 40 I DIDN'T CHANGE IT AT THE TIME 40 SEEMED SO OLD...NOW AT 52 I REALIZE I WAS JUST A KID

That is too funny. I've even seen personal ads where a man listed that the woman needed to make at least $50,000 per yr. Why, so she could support his lazy butt? LOL

Well, I suppose that explains why he is seperated.

Aside from being a totally vacuous and superficial thing to say, it seems to illustrate the fact that people still believe in a magic number. There's never any consideration for different builds or height.

I remember some dork telling me that women shouldn't weight more than 125lbs. Nice, I would be seriously sick if I tried to get that small with my frame.

But I digress. I don't believe these kind of people are ever happy. Sure, no one includes flaws when they make a list of their perfect mate, but we all have them and we all fall for those who do.
