Just Need To Vent...
OMG I'm ready to pull my hair out in total and utter frustration! :stress: It's been a horrible few weeks/ months! I've been looking for a job since March, and applied to every single kind of job, from McDonalds to Walmart, to office jobs, to retail....not one single interview!!!! Am I THAT unhirable?!?!?!! I tried temp agencies and still nothing.... I don't get it! So I'm keep applying, but there is only so many rejections you can get before you just have no confidence anymore in your own abilities...and that's where I'm at now. :(
DH has a job, but no flexability. We are supposed to go to Disney World for a Family Reunion in May of 2007, and DH asked for the time off, and now they are telling him that they won't be able to give him that time off...simply because they won't hire another Manager!!! :tantrum: I told DH to look for another job, but there is nothing here! We can't afford to move either. Then there is the car...it's completely paid off, and we got it last year. It's a 10 yr old car though. Anyway, it needs some work on it, but we don'thave the cash to pay for it, we don't have any credit cards, and we've applied for some, but since I'm not working, and DH has a crappy credit rating from before we got together, he gets rejected too...so basically once our car dies, we're even more screwed! It needs an alignment desperately, an oil change, and tune-up, none of which we can afford. :stress: I HATE BEING AN ADULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :tantrum: |
Amanda - I am so sorry to hear frustrated you are :( Have you tried having someone help you write a resume? Even if it is for a place a little farther away and perhaps take the bus?
Also, about moving... you might not be able to afford in the move up front, but in the long run if you could both find a decent paying job elsewhere - you would be able to afford more in the long run! Best of luck and be sure to let us know how it goes! |
That does suck. I can relate. I have a job but i am on the verge of being laid off and replaced by a skanky bimbo. While hubby has a job that he hates. I think you nailed it. I hate being a grown up too...it is not all its cracked up to be. huh.
When i am looking for a job i tailor my resume to suit that job i am applying for. Have you tried that? |
My problem is that I have no real work experience in anything...just alot of volunteer stuff... which doesn't really mean anything....makes things harder! Highschool students can get jobs easier then I can!!

What do you mean that volunteer stuff doesn't mean anything??? It means a lot you should be writing it up like a job, (the name of the volunteer program, the dates you volunteered, and who was like your supervisor) It is like a job you just didn't get paid money. You also need to keep going back to the places you applied at and ask about your application. Keep bugging them enough and show you are really interested you will get hired. I work at Target and we haven't stopped hiring since I got hired almost two years ago. We go through people like crazy, they don't like the hours, they got a new job ect..... At target they should do an instant interview where once you fill out the app on the computer in the store they give you an interview. Good luck, you should live where I do, there is not enought people to work entry level jobs so instead of minimum wage which is $7.50 and hour people are offering more to go elsewhere. Good Luck |
