Holiday season

I am getting a little excited about the holiday season coming! It is the 2nd holiday season with my husband! I really consider myself lucky to find such a wonderful man!
HOWEVER It is the first holiday without my mother! She passed away Jan2.
I guess its kind of a double edged sword.
I know I will see her again but I just miss her.

Hugs to you Kathy

The holidays are always hard for me since my first DH was killed in '91 and then losing a baby in 2000 and now DS#2 being in Iraq. I always try to make it nice for my kids and hubby and get all into the decorating but by the time Christmas actually arrives I feel blah...just want it all to be over. And especially this year with DS being deployed...will be a hard one.

Maybe you and your hubby can make wonderful holiday memories and it won't be so hard missing your mom. There's lot's of memorial candles and ornaments out that you can get and include your mom in the holidays to. I always include our baby with a stocking with his name on it. And I always light candles. They will always be close in spirit, in our heart and in our minds...just a memory/thought away.

Hey all, Cheer up! you are so lucky to have a vacation! I did not have a vacation for a good year and a half now.

All I want right now is a long peaceful vacation to some where far and exotic may be like Fiji or I can also settle for Yosemite! :)

Hey Willmakeit! You can come camping with me! I camp near Yosemite. It isn't the park, but it's still the same mountain range with a beautiful river!

I, too, know how hard the holidays can be. I was widowed before I was 30 and had 2 little girls. It was hard, but I had to do it for them. Remember, you can't see them, but God gives us these bootstraps and it's up to us to pull them up and keep going.

To those of you who have lost a child, my heart breaks for you. I've lost a parent and a spouse. I can't fathom the amount of grief you must feel when your own child is taken from you.

But remember, they are there in spirit and watching over us.

Wow, cbmare, I would totally love it! I want to camping to yosemite! I have never camped before...but I am sure it must be fun to sleep in a tent and be scared of the bears all night...light a campfire, thoe hunter shoes...wow!
I wish I get 4 days off!
