I Flew a Plane!
 

Wow - my boyfriend gave me the most amazing birthday gift yesterday. It was a complete surprise, so leading up to it I had no idea what it would be. We went out for breakfast, and then started driving past the airport - I still had no idea, since some of our friends live near the airport, so I figured we might be stopping in to see them. Then he turned in to the Victoria Flying Club parking lot... and told me I was going to do a discovery flight lesson! It was an amazingly clear, beautifully sunny day. I got to help the pilot with all the pre-flight safety checks, and he talked me through the take-off, and I took it from there! It was a little two-seater Cessna 152. We flew over the city, and over the ocean, and a little ways up the island - it was one of the most incredible things I've ever done. I wanted to stay up there forever! I'm definitely hooked, and I think I want to start training for my private pilot's licence in a few years (there's no way I could afford it while I'm going to school, but I definitely think I can do it once I start making money). Anyway, it was an amazing gift, and I just had to share with you guys! I told my bf that it'll be hard to top this gift, and he said maybe next summer we can jump out of a plane! Looking forward to that one...:D

I did that, too! It was a gift as well. I flew out over my old high school and out over Lake ONtario and then I flew it to just over the runway, then the instructor took over. It was so awesome!! :carrot: Glad you liked it!!
