You~ I've put ten years into this friendship, how dare you make me compete with some guy you just met?

You~ J~Thank you for being the only person in my life without drama. It makes me feel a little more sane.

You~ I'm your friend, not your mother. Stop expecting me to take care of you and all your problems.

You - STOP screwing with my head. I don't want you.

You - make up your mind! I am not your mother and cannot live your life for you.

You - stop making up stories - nobody believes you.

You - I refused to be godmother to your child so you haven't been in contact with me for the last 4 months. You are my 37 year old brother...grow up for Gods sake.

You~do your homework and turn it in on time and you won't fail!!! This is all just practice for when you go off to college. Do you really thing college will be easier and the professors will let you turn things in late? Do you? Huh? Do you think they'll let it slide when you don't do the assignment at all?

Oh, and put your dishes in the dishwasher. No wonder you get ants in your bedroom.

You--my professors never seem to mind when I turn in stuff late, as long as I talk to them about it 1st. (But I promise I'll never tell your kids that!)

Cheryl, DD is driving me nuts!!!! She knew she had an essay that would be due today. It was assigned last week and she had all weekend to work on it. Instead, she played her "shoot 'em up" game on the computer and didn't do the work. I asked her every day and she said she was working on it. This morning she said it is now due tomorrow, then I look at her blog--it is due tomorrow but she hasn't started it.

This is what happened last quarter when she almost failed. She didn't do 12 of the 23 assignments!!!! And she wants to be a school teacher. GAH!!

OMGosh ALLISON! I owe you some rent! When did my nephew move in with you? I must do much better on those bed checks, heck I didn't even know he was missing!

Check out my story ~ I will try to be brief, but that never happens.

Ron had an F and a D on his semester report card...along with 2 A's 1 B and a C. Now Ron is SMART...but L-A-Z-Y...this is an on going problem...plus ADHD...which has started to NOT be a problem as he grows and stays on a very low dose of medicine (that is another story ~ I am against over medicating kids totally ~ fought the drugs for years ~ he begged me last year for HELP..as I said another story)

I restrict him and other punishments, he does not GET AWAY with these things! I talk ~ e-mail and MEET his teachers and always have to help Ron become a good citizen.

After the last report card I made sure I asked him EVERY day if he had homework...Ron will lie, tell you no, then when confronted he'll say "Oh, it isn't due until Thurs".. even though he has had the assingment for weeks, but this is a Wed. So every day before he got to go to the tennis courts or skateboard I'd ask "Do you have any homework? Is there ANY project you could or should be working on?"...Nope..."If I call your teachers will they tell me the same thing?" Yep.

Over Christmas break he was board, I asked him isn't there any project you should be doing?..Nope...Well Ron, I find that strange, because I always had a project over Christmas, Aunt Angie did, Ryan, Amanda and Lara did.

Well GUESS WHAT? he did...and of course he didn't do it...I caught him trying to sneak it in, he thought I had left for work, I did but had to come home for some material I had forgotten...he lied so many times when I confronted him and asked him questions that I had to go get my BS BOOTS, it was getting so deep.

I just walked out of the house...for the next 2 days he just walked on eggshells...I didn't say a word, he vacumed...dusted...cleaned his room..things were looking pretty nice!

Then on Sunday, after church, he says "Uncle Gary I am going to go with Jason and Emily (one of my neices) to play frisbee football...something he does most Sunday afternoons. UH..NO! you're NOT...then the "WHY?" I just told him, Ron go write down, so I am clear, what happened at the table the other day, and you know what I mean.

In short ~ HA! ~ Uncle gary I lied to you because I didn't want conflict and I know you don't...I talked to my teacher and she is going to give me more time (3 months wasn't enough?) to complete my project...and give me some TIME MANAGEMENT tips...WHAT! He BS'd his way with her...she is a young one..KEep in mind he hadn't done anything on it and was 14 assingments behind on it...which was 14 weeks of doing nothing!

So, 1 week later, yesterday, as I drop him off at school, I ask him "How is that project coming along Ron?" Fine Uncle Gary...cool dude...let me see it...uh...well Uncle Gary I haven't done anything on it...WHAT! WHY!...well, Uncle Gary, I haven't had time to get the time management tips from Mrs. G. ~ OK dude...well don't worry about getting those tips...I will FIX the problem tonight.

Later...back at the ranch....Uncle Gary can I go play tennis? Is your homework done Ron? Yep...OK then go ahead and spend the next 3 hours on your project...I am MANAGING to Give you the TIME...EVERY DAY...I will manage to give you 3 solid hours to work on that project until WAY AFTER it is done! EVERY DAY! After all your work is done...you will have 3 hours to work on the project, then you can go "play"...but Uncle Gary, then it will be too late to go "play"....NO KIDDING! Poor baby

Gary, I think your nephew has a 14 year old red headed twin brother living in my house in Mississippi. I could have written your post word for word. It drives me NUTS. He will lie to my face when asked "Do you have homework?". He has done this since 2nd grade. Every few months, we have this long drawn out discussion (read - argument) about his grades, and he says he'll "Do Better" and he does for a week, then quits. He is in the Gifted and Talented program in his high school so there is lots of potential, but he isn't interested. He wants me to be happy as long as he passes. Ain't happening. This year I'm making him go to the office every Friday and get a progress report that every teacher has to complete showing how he did that week. No progress report - no computer time. Bad grades on progess report - no computer time.

He has a report in science due in 2 weeks. I know for a fact that he has only worked on it when I have harped on him to do it. So next week during spring break, he will be doing a science report or - no computer time.

Oh well - YOU - do your stinkin' homework!!!!

AH POOP TAMMY Looks like I owe you some rent $$$ too! The kid's gonna break me! Too funny...not funny HA-HA...You are right about the word for word.

Each year 16 yr old nephew...bombs ...at the end of year he says " I am going to sign up for honors classes!" Every year I say "NO you are NOT!" Why he comes back at me...because look at your honors grades C- ~ D's and F's ~ Well, that's because I didn't DO my homework...WHAT! I asked you every day did you do it...over and over...the same old story. Well, Uncle Gary I will this time, I want to change...progress reports ...punishment....then first week of new 6 week period, homework being done...second week nothing...don't you have h...NAH...progress report and on and on and on!

I did the daily reports all of last year...it helps.

Maybe we should start a HOMEWORK THREAD!

GARY- tell him all that will accomplish is being in college for 7 years!!! I was EXACTLY like that and only this semester just said "to heck with it. It's time to suck it up and DO THE WORK". The difference between before when I would put it off until the last minute and now when I will plan everything out is that now I will graduate. It's really hard to pull off just getting by in life by the skin of your teeth.

Do you know what my BF said to me? I was going over my grade report for a class online and he said, "Wow, Jen, you're really really smart when you apply yourself".

Thanks, babe.

YOU- if you don't like the style of musicians I chose for the project, than get off your butt and do some of the work! I'm sure the death metal band you would bring in would be fabulous.

YOU- I want to hear your bootcamp stories. Write me! I miss you more than you will ever know and I can't believe you are having all of these experiences and I don't get to hear about them.

YOU- I know you're 18 and you just joined the Navy and don't know your butt from a hole in the ground, but please. Just because I laughed at the notion of ME joining the military does not mean I am anti-military and hate America! Really, I would look very silly in the military and it would be more of a DIService than a service, ya know? (different person than the previous YOU)

YOU- are going to make a great father someday.

YOU- walking back into my life is not going to be nearly as easy as you thought and you are crossing lines all over the place, lady.
