Where I live, it seems there is no shortage of homes for sale. There is one in particular that I drive by daily. It's an average looking home. Part brick. Part clapboard. Two-story, decent lot with trees. It's an older home to be sure, but looks to be in good shape.
The For Sale sign has a little topper on it that says "I'm Beautiful Inside".
Many are the days that I feel I have to wear that same sign. As if I need to justify my existance to society, just as the Real Estate agent feels it's necessary to justify this home's worthiness to prospective buyers. As if the house just isn't good enough as it is because it's not one of those shiny new McMansions...
Every time I see that sign, it just sort of hits me right *there*... if you know what I mean...
