Question Previous c-section success stories?

Hi - I have had 2 c-sections and I am sooo unhappy with my belly -

I am wondering if once you lose the weight the area above c-section scar area flattens out or is it just that way forever? If you've had one, you'll know what I mean!!

Thanks!

icmethinner,
A scar is a scar.....how much it will fade depends on many things. Your age, you skin type the thickness of the scar tissure. I had a hystorectomy at 48, the scar is still there it has, gotten much less noticable. I also had mesotherapy on it which helped (or so I believe).

I reread your post and see that you are talking about the belly and not the scar. That really does depend on your age and how much weight you lose. After a certain age when you lose ALOT of weight chances are your gonna end up with some extra skin........

I think shes talking about the wonderful flab of belly....I "lovingly" call it my kangaroo pouch.....I am DYING to get rid of it!!!! I feel your pain! I have been trying and trying and mines not going away, it def is getting smaller but seems like the flap will never disappear! Its difficult being naked knowing you belly is "flapping in the wind". Tons of crunches in our future....CHEERS!

Tons of crunches sometimes makes no difference - that's when plastic surgery comes in....

I had c-section with my 1st who now 13 yrs old.. along with two more kids by natural birth. After 1st child, I lost weight and my belly went flat! But scar is a scar. Now after two kids.. gained lots of weights and now working hard to lose those weight and belly! Do some crunches...that what I did after my 1st. It worked.. I am do all over again like I did before. Of coures, I will have some extra skin and stretch marks.

I had three c-sections in 4 years! I don't just have a flap, it looks like I have two separate stomaches But I am working hard to get rid of it. I know that it is never going tolook like it used to, but I am hoping that it gets a little smaller. Extra crunches have helped!!

I just had my 2nd c-section in October and I HATE my pouch! After my first daughter I was still overweight and then in the summer of '04 I lost 20 pounds and was at my lowest weight in almost 10 years- 155. GO ME! GO ME! Okay I'm done.

I was just overweight then but now I'm back up to 185 and it's all in my pouch! It's disgusting!

eeek. i know what you mean. i had my one and only child by c-section, and my stomach is a mess now. i told my husband that i think it looks like a butt in the front. LOL my stomach is all saggy, and with the way they sewed me up, i guess, the center of it sort of dips up towards my belly button so that the saggy stomach sort of hangs down on either side. bleah. it doesn't feel like a lot of fat, though, i think its mostly skin. i have a condition that causes my collagen to be more like worn out underwear elastic than a rubberband. once it stretches, thats it. so i think unless i save up money for a <<<gaack>>> tummy tuck, i'm stuck with the wrinkly, saggy front-butt.

but so be it. i am SOOOOOO glad to have my daughter, because - due to said condition - we didn't know if i would be able to even carry a baby to term. so, i shouldn't be complaining about it!

Not to be a downer but my best friend has had 2 c-sections (and 2 other pregnancies) and has the belly flap over her scar in spite of her recent complaint that after her last child she's having trouble getting back to her normal 98# unpregnant weight - she seems to be stuck at 105

I had two kids naturally, & I too have an *** in front on my tummy. I wish it would disappear so I feel your pain!

I myself had a c-section 8 yrs ago. I have been yoyo dieter all eight years. I have loose skin, fatty, flappy belly. Though with mine come stretchmarks. Not just a c-section scar. My stretchmarks start from above my belly button and end at my knees (YES I SAID KNEES) I have them on my thighs, butt, you name it it's there.

I believe in tummy tuck, my pocket book, debts, and income - do not
When I am richer, we'll see.

I Lost 50 Lbs And I Could Tell It Was Getting Smaller I Believe Alot Of That Is Your Water Weight! If Your C-section Was Like Mine Do You Remem Having A Bag Stuck On You A Couple Of Days? Well I Asked A Nurse What All That Stuff Was And She Said It Was Water. I Deff Could Tell As I Got Smaller It Got Littler But I Think We Will Still Have A Small Flap But Just Not Sooo Pouchy Kwim?

I had a c section with my twin girls a little over a year ago... I am 5ft 2in tall... I was 58 inches around when I gave birth... I was 5 & 1/2 weeks early too. I hate my tummy! I have so much extra skin it just hangs there & looks horrible! I am trying to loose the baby weight... but I think I'm going to have a lot of extra skin hanging no matter what! Oh Well... the joy of motherhood !
