Anyone else use FireFox instead of Explorer?

I prefer Firefox over Explorer for many reasons for my web surfing, but since the upgrade to this site yesterday, I can't get any of the control buttons around my text area to work (change text color, insert smilies, bold, italicize, bullets, etc.). Does anyone else use Firefox and have this same problem, or is it just me? Everything works fine when I am in *shudder* MS Explorer.

I use firefox for this site and it seems to be working ok for me so far. I keep IE around just because some pages need it!

YP1 11-25-2005 02:53 PM

I've not had any problems with firefox so far.

I have used Firefox with no problems. I use a Mac most of the time and right now I'm using Safari. I'm very happy with it because I don't get ANY popups whatsoever!

Suzanne posted this about caching - I don't know if it's related.

The solution: Do a hard refresh of your browser by holding down the control button while pressing the F5 key. That should take care of it! :carrot:

My firefox is performing as normal, not had to do anything special to get it ticking over. I can't be doing with explorer, it's a pain. It took me a while to convert to firefox, but not I could never go back to IE :o :o :p

I always get annoyed at work when I go to open a new tab and realise I'm stuck with IE.

Will try not to rant too much...

Oh tell me, the tecchies at work turn a funny shade of purple when you tell them you want to install firefox instead of explorer. You think they would be happy, but nope, little Bill Gates babies they are!

I'm using Firefox version 1.0.7 and it works for me.

sabriena 11-25-2005 06:39 PM

I use Firefox and it's working okay for me, granted I don't use the bold, italize or anything like that. Just quick reply but, nothing seems broken :D

Your browser may have cached some of the older files which are no longer compatible with the upgraded version. The other person that mentioned this to me was also using Firefox.

On a side note, two years ago, 93% of our users used Internet Explorer. As of today, only 55% use IE. Almost all of the rest use Firefox :)

Firefox rocks and never in the time I have used it has it crashed and windows would crash every time I used it.

jillybean720 11-25-2005 10:30 PM

Woohoo, the ctrl+F5 thing worked--now I can have my smilies and purple text again (without having to manually type in the html) :D

modemama 11-28-2005 11:35 AM

certain message boards it doesn't work right, and you have to go to the fire fox website and install the BBC code fix. Then you can highlight text and right click for your options. I still would rather do that then give up firefox. lol

You know Microsoft is working on an upgrade for IE to make it tabbed browsing like firefox? I guess they decided they needed to upgrade or lose the monopoly they have going.

Good, I'm glad that MicroSoft will be upgrading IE to make it more like Firefox. :)

My yahoo email when using firefox won't let me use my smilies or color texts. Never could understand why that was...
