Helo! I am new

  • And I do not know where to post this. But I was wanting to know of anyone that has Diabetes type II and has heard for the new medication Byetta. I am taking Byetta and the 2nd #1 side effect is NO MORE appetite although I need to lose weight I also HAVE to eat right after the injection. My blood levels are BEAUTIFUL and I want to stay on Byetta but I can't eat. Can anyone share with me what are good snacks small ones. People are losing weight like crazy but I can't get them to talk about what they eat they are so into the new drug conversation. Anyone??
  • Maybe I shouldn't say I am new
  • Hello and welcome! You might want to try the "Dieting with Obstacles" thread - there's probably a diabetic thread in there somewhere!

Good luck with your weight and diabetes.
  • Howdy...sorry i dunno anything about that med, im on something else....
  • I did a search for Byetta - and found this post - a DH is taking it...
    welcome to 3FC...
  • Duh...you were asking for snack suggestions...

I eat velamints all day long...satisfies my sweet tooth and keeps my mouth busy. Just don't eat a whole tin in one day - your toungue will be raw... It might be better if you don't ask how I know that.

Also a big fan of snack sized bags of lowfat kettlecorn...100 calories and shuts me up for a while...

What else? In the winter - soup can be a quick warm me up...I especially like the kind that come in a resealable carton...butternut squash with ginger and tomato with roasted red peppers...they run about 100 calories a cup.

Baby carrots...I'm making myself hungry - it's lunchtime over here...
