  • Last year I missed the first show. So I never really figured out how they lost the weight.... which diet plan etc. Well this year I was able to see the first show... last night! They are calorie counters!! I had no idea.

Last night's show was pretty awesome! I am glad they got the one guy out. He seemed not to care much anyway! But he did lose awesomely when he left! And didn't he get a pretty girl!!!

The girls were awesome! That poor girl that got sick because of the plane!! I don't blame her at all. At least she went in there!!

It was a close night last night!!! I can't wait to see the next show! Now that I am calorie counting the show will be even more of an inspiration for me! I was thrilled to see that it was a healthy diet they were doing. There are a lot of motivated and determined people on the show!!! This might be a close competition this year!
  • My question is how did they lose so much weight in one week? I also wonder how much exercise they do in one day.

    bev
  • Good morning Bev! It appears that they beat themselves up most of there days! They seem to always be doing some kind of exercise or something. Some kind of fitness activity. I am not sure how they lost that much weight so quickly. However, with all of that exercise that helps! I beleive they said the girls were eating 1600 calories a day and the guys were eating 2000 calories a day. So if they actually are exercising most of the day... they are eating half if not less of the calories that they are actually eating. I'm assuming anyway. I would love to know all of the secrets they do though! I would love to sit behind the scenes!!

I saw the very end of the show & I thought that they said that they had ten days rather than just one week. Working out constantly + the initial shock of first starting a weightloss program + the extra three days = big weight loss. I would love to have that kinda time and that kinda assistance to (re) jumpstart. Alas: life and work and whatnot mean that slow and steady has to triumph.
  • Yes! I remember hearing 10 days on there too! I think the 1 week thing is just because the next show is in one week. I think the actual weigh ins are every 10 days. This is pre-recorded... so anything is possible. I think the pressure from competing, being on tv, and having a trainer would make a world of difference too! Plus, the more you weight the faster you lose it sometimes I have heard as well. And men ALWAYS lose weight faster.... we get ripped on all deals... men have it so easy!!! HAHAHAHA. Sorry to all of you men out there lol.
  • I didnt get to watch it! I realized it about a hour after it went off.
  • I missed a little because I forgot too! It is on next week. You gotta see it. Some good stuff on there.
  • I watched last seasons so I was a bit excited to watch this season. I think Im gonna beat myself over it. lol
Men do tend to loose weight easier dont they..
  • I missed a lot of last season because I was not sure how they were doing it. It was driving me nuts. Plus I was online more then anything then lol. And yes, men seem to have it a little easier then women lol.

Me too, but hopefully like last season they will replay it again on USA network so I can catch this first show....I'm so bumed I missed it.
  • I didn't know they did that! I will have to keep my eyes open.

That's actually why I READ this thread...I wanted to see if anyone else had a comment about that. I think that's alot of weight to lose in a MONTH, much less in one week. I hope it doesn't set up people (viewers) for the false hope that they can lose 15 - 23 lbs a week.

Other than that, I liked the show, tho . I'd never seen it before. I like that their final goals are based on a piece of clothing and not necessarily on a number on the scale. That's cool .
  • Yes that is cool!

And yes agree about the weight loss. I think if everyone is able to see how much these people work out and lift and so on that will help explain it. However, I still think it is a lot of weight to lose!! It seems to dreamy honestly.
  • Hey, Tracy! Are you "following" me? I keep responding to your posts and then you sneak up "behind" me and post back almost immediately....hilarious.

And yeah, I wish they'd show more of the working out aspect...and they didn't show what they're eating or anything, either. I don't know if they get into that more in later episodes (like I said, I've never seen the show before). And yeah, 20+ lbs lost in a week is pretty "dreamy." I know that the heavier you are, the quicker you lose weight at first (and that men lose much more quickly then women), but that just seems a tad excessive to me. Then again, my goal is 1/2 lb a week, which I've been doing consistently -- it took me 80 weeks (about 18 months) to lose my 40 lbs. So I guess I'm on a whole 'nother track than these people .

Who's your favorite, Tracy? I like that doctor guy (I forget his name).
  • Lool..... I am just running around in here reading away hahah.

I know!! They NEED to show the food choices, sizes and exercise a lot more! Everyone that watches this is just going to think boom and you lost the weight. They need to show how hard it is and how much work it takes, and that the weight does not just fall off over night!

I did like the doctor guy!!! I thought "how can he be a doc and look the way he does?" Which is why (I found out later) he is there! I bow to him for that! Not sure who is who quite yet. I have a bad memory when it comes to tv lol.
