I take a multivitamin, but that's all. I don't know how much it's helping, but I figure it's probably not hurting me either.

I've been taking a D3 vitamin. I haven't really seen any changes yet, but it's more for preserving my bone health for later in life, and perhaps as I take it longer it will help with energy.
Most vitamins should be taken with a meal, or else your body won't receive them as well. In general, multivitamins are not absorbed as well as the natural vitamins in food, but since I am so deficient in Vitamin D (living in the northeast, wearing lots of sunscreen because I burn easily, and generally not being outside a whole lot, I don't get very much), I think that some is better than nothing! |
my doctor recently told me to start taking vitamin D also because of the rain/darkness up here....and also told me to start taking zinc because i'm still fighting off the remains of an infection
|
I take multivitamins, calcium, magnesium, omega 3 and 6 and zinc. I started on zinc for my skin, but it helps your immune system as well. Since I've started taking supplements I haven't been sick (touch wood). If you're not sure what brand etc to get the staff at the chemist are normally quite knowledgeable.

D3, fish oil (omega3), and I sprinkle Braggs nutritional yeast powder on my salad for some B vits. My whey protein shake is fortified with a bunch of things, too--wish it weren't.
