Nutritional book recommendations

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone recommends some books on health and nutrition/portion control/health?

Here is a good book.

In my opinion books for dieting are over rated. Here is what every diet book essentially is going to tell you.

Eat a diet of primarily whole foods. This means you have to cook it and there is no plastic packaging.

Eat lots of vegtables. Raw and cooked are good.

Don't consume any added sugar. Since you're primarily eating whole foods this should be easy.

Avoid bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. Then you won't have to worry about portion size.

Exercise at least 3 x a week for 30 minutes. Brisk walking is plenty.

Try not to stress out.

If I added several chapters about life changing stories of people who have followed my plan, a chapter about my credentials, and a section of recipies you would have a diet book.

If you want to read some good articles I would suggest Lyle Mcdonald who has hundreds available on his site for free.

Er..."The Perfect Protein". Used. On Amazon.

Unfortunately I read it after I had already discovered it.

And you don't have to cook fish JohnP for it to be mostly whole. It also comes in cans. I consume 35-42 cans a week.:dizzy:

French Women Don't Get Fat. I wouldn't say her recipes were particularly helpful (they include expensive food) but the advice on portion control and self-control were pretty great.
