Hi everyone! Just thought I would quickly check in to let you all know I am out of hospital and on the mend. The operation was a success, I am able to eat small amounts of soft foods, and the pain killers are doing their job. I already feel better, I am sleeping and breathing better, and cannot wait til I am completely recovered. The lead up to the surgery was a bit stressful, they wouldnt let me say goodbye to my family before I had it done, they just rushed me straight in, which upset me alot and scared me out of my mind. It took the nurses half an hour to calm me down before I could be prepped for surgery. I am out of hospital and feeling good now, and I know it is all going to be worth it. Thankyou so much for all of your support, good thoughts and advice, I really appreciate it, and it helped me out immensely. I cannot wait to hit the gym in a few weeks time, so I can get back on the wagon! I kind of have another exciting announcement too; my boyfriend has just started up with a personal trainer. He is over 150kg, has been over weight his whole life and has decided to start his journey. He asked me if he could exercise with me, which of course he can. I have encouraged him to join 3FC, as he knows how supportive this community has been for me, as I told him all about it when I started losing weight. He did his first personal training session yesterday, and he is hurting today, but he told me he likes it, because he is hurting for a reason, instead of just being achy anyway. I am so proud of him, and I cant wait to get better and join him in the gym :)

You should be talking to a psychologist, preferably before now but it think you should find a counsellor asap and try to listen to what they say.

er i didn't see your post above until after i posted so anyway next time you face surgery, go see a psychologist if you start to get stressed.

Deep breaths! It will be okay. A tonsilectomy is a routine, simple procedure.

Its gonna hurt, im not gonna lie, but its not an agonizing deathly pain. Itll throb a bit. You wont want to eat anything. Stick with room temperature foods at first (don't believe the rumor about eating all the ice cream! Cold and hot foods will hurt at first). But after a few days, it will get better. And long term you won't regret it. Tonsilitis and ear infections hurt, too, but this surgery will prevent you from having to deal with that stuff.

Hoping everything goes well for you. I had mine out as a kid.

Whoops! I didn't see your update. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Thanks everyone! I am feeling better already :) And I am so proud of him! He has always been really self conscious about his weight, and I am so proud of him for deciding to take that step. Our relationship is really developing, and I am so happy about it. He wants the world with me; we are both overweight and we both want babies in the next few years. He seen me keeping up my end of the bargin by getting fitter and healthier to increase my chances of falling pregnant when the time is right, and now he wants to do the same. He has also not had a smoke in over a year now. I am so proud of him for wanting this change and for being brave enough to start on his journey. He has been so supportive and caring of me and I love and appreciate him so much. Everything is going well now, I am still in a bit of pain but it isnt too bad. Everyone has been so wonderful to me, and I am so lucky to have such a beautiful support base. I will definitely keep you all updated on how I go over the next week, and how my boyfriend goes as he begins his journey :)

It's good that you have and exercise partner. I started getting really into my running once I joined a group. Having someone hold you accountable and having a little friendly competitiveness is great motivation! :)

Good Luck! And glad you are feeling better!
