My 17-year-old daughter deleted her Facebook account about a year ago. She said it was causing her more stress than enjoyment (i.e., comparing number of "likes" with what her peers were getting, number of notifications, etc.). I thought it was very mature of her. She says she'll probably return to it when she's ready, most likely after high school is over.

I haven't logged into Facebook for a couple years and I'd recommend it to anyone. I don't think I was overly into it - I probably used it less than my peers to begin with - but ditto for the negative emotions outweighing the positive. I'd recommend cutting it out to anyone. Life really does go on.
