I actively avoid running/swim/tri stores and expos because I overspend. I also spend a lot at Sephora and Loft.

Amazon - I have a prime membership, and it is way too easy to put absolutely anything in my cart knowing it'll be here in 2 days.

Costco - Their produce is significantly cheaper than anywhere else around here, but I always end up walking out of the store with more than just produce. Wtg, Costco.. haha

TARGET! Btw, if you liked lane bryant, either NY and Co or Loft would probably be good "go-to" stores

Target. I go in there for one thing and never come out with less than ten. There's always something fantastic on sale there. As it happens I'm heading over there with my daughter to buy her some shorts this morning, that's all we're getting, honestly

I forgot about this one! I only go occasionally, but when I do... !!!

And apparently I need to hang out at Kohl's more! I may just be secretly annoyed at their "permanent" sales. I mean, just put your sale price as the price, you're not fooling me that I'm getting some kind of special deal.

I used to be a book hog too, which was easier when there were more mega bookstores around. But then I moved to my hometown last year and they have an AMAZING library system with TONS of ebooks. So I've been just trying to read things I can get from there.

Munchy - thanks for the tip!! I'll have to check those places out

Someone else mentioned Sur La Table. I just don't go there any more. Surprisingly, the place I probably over-buy the most is my local thrift store. On a quarterly basis they have a "Best of the Best" sale. Do I really need 3 perfect made in Scotland heavy cashmere sweaters for $20 each? or that mint condition designer leather jacket for $35 when I already have a couple others from earlier sales hanging in the closet? This thrift store is part of a local chain and they have their "Best" sales rotating among different locations so there's one almost every weekend within 10 miles.

That is my life right now. I have a good selection of thrift stores to hit in my area, and I at least get a great discount on the things I wind up buying. If I bought at the stores my thrifted clothes came from, I'd be able to buy one outfit per month.

Great sales and when I tire of something I can donate it back in good condition! Sharing the thrift love.

I spend an insane amount of money in TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I buy lots of dresses and some shirts there. I can't buy pants there because I'm tall. I only buy pants from stores that have specifically labeled "tall" pants.

I can't actually step foot into Sephora, it gives me headaches from all the smells. I buy most of my beauty products online.

Williams Sonoma is another one that tempts me. I'm pretty set but keep thinking 'oh maybe I need that'

I also need some bathroom supplies and not sure where I should go. Any tips appreciated. I like Ikea because it is funky but a lot of their stuff is just cheap. I'm not that big a fan of Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I spend WAY too much money eating out! Sometimes I splurge on Amazon too.

Sigh, I need to save.

Nelie - have you tried Home Goods?

edit, to answer the question -- Amazon (love/hate relationship with Prime), Marshall's/TJ Maxx/Ross. And Whole Foods. :/ I try to buy maybe 85% of my groceries elsewhere, but dang if WF impulse buys don't make the spending amounts relatively equal (feels that way, anyway).

Amazon - convenient and good deals
Farmers' Markets/grocery stores - I'm a foodie
Victoria's Secret
DSW - I'm not that picky about clothes, but I've grown accustomed to quality bras and shoes and can't go back.

I would have put it toward a Kindle. That's what I did with my Christmas gift certificates. But now I have a downloading books addiction!

But I actually save money with it too because I can download books from the library on it. I was always paying overdue fines.
