"Double D"

What is the first thing you think of when you hear "double D"....maybe my mind is in the gutter but I think of boobs! lol

Anyway there is a boy on my son's soccer team, they are 5 and 6 years old and his family shouts the whole game for the boy to run, get the ball, good job etc...but the boy, who's first and middle name start with "D" (they do call him by name sometimes) they call him by his nickname: "Double D"

Is it just me? lol Is it weird to hear them yelling "Go Double D!!" "Run Double D!" "yeah Double D!" during the game? lol

Would you all be thinking the same thing? :dizzy:

ChickieBoom 05-22-2013 03:41 PM

LOL...thanks for the afternoon chuckle! I don't know what I'd be thinking. I'd probably turn around and assume that some pervert was trying to get my attention.

LOL. I think it's weird. I'd immediately think boobs too. Plus I bet that kid will get embarassed when he learns about cup sizes.

thinkfit 05-22-2013 04:44 PM

I definitely thought boobs too! Like Daki said, that kid is gonna be seriously embarrassed later on. I had a similar experience when I was a tiny Daisy in Girl Scouts, we were camping and everyone was supposed to pick an animal and put it on a name tag and my best friend wanted to pick fox, but wanted to be a baby fox. We had no idea what that might be called, so instead of saying baby fox, her name tag said 'Foxy'. Yiiiikes hahaha

Same here! Its a good thing the kid is a boy, not a girl -- or that nickname would REALLY be awkward!

My first thought was "double dribbling," but that was no doubt influenced by imagining little kids running around playing a sport. ... And/or remnants of my childhood obsession with basketball. (You couldn't grow up in Chicago in the 90s and not love da Bulls).

I agree with Joe it's a good thing that the child isn't a she!

in the context of 3FC yeah I thought of breast size first

but if I was out at the game and in that context I wouldn't have thought anything of it

but that's just me coming from a background of very weird nicknames...

GlamourGirl827 05-22-2013 08:29 PM

ok Glad to know its not just me!!

SuperHeroTeacher 05-22-2013 08:39 PM

Definitely funny! I wonder if they even realize. My teenage son's name is Owen, and when he was little we frequently shortened it to O.

when my best friend had her baby (Owen was about 10), she named her Olivia - so Owen became Big O abd Olivia was Little O, until someone pointed out that it sounded like we were talking about orgasms, not children.

seabiscuit 05-23-2013 01:59 PM

Double D, yes I immediately thought of boobs!

SuperHeroTeacher- That is downright HILARIOUS!! :D

Thanks for the laughs!!

 ;)
