Words that changed my point of view
Over the weekend, I was glancing over a book about losing weight and these words struck me. "Stop using food as entertainment." I know that's what I have been doing. My body deserves to be fueled! It's a machine, not a dumpster! Why do I think it's okay to stuff my face with things that have no positive affect on my body? Everything I eat needs to be beneficial to my health. I wonder why I have no energy, I wonder why I don't feel great and have a happy attitude...It's because my body isn't getting the right fuel.
I know that this is an obvious concept, but it just came to me as an epiphany. |
Thanks for the reminder.

Good reminder. Food = fuel. I have definitely found this in working out. If I eat crap and then go out for a run, it feels pretty lousy. But if I eat veggies, beans, and sweet potatoes for lunch, or a big salad with a banana as a snack for some carbs right before I go out - it's like nothing can stop me. I have found doing this kind of experimenting really has changed my perspective on what I eat and why.

It is a good reminder. I have often thought if food was more boring or had less variety that I wouldn't eat so much of it, so obviously I'm eating because it tastes good and not because I actually need the calories.

One poster said food is not my best friend. It's not there to comfort me or entertain me. I'm paraphrasing...I should really go find it, lol, it was absolutely brilliant!
