REAL beautiful women

Check out this project to do fine art photographs of real women (this is a great slide show but be warned - it involves nudity):
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-in-every-body

And here is a page of more (also nudity):

BUT THE BEST PART: On the link above, there is a women in the center around the 13th row who clearly had massive weight loss. And I just felt so much pride for her in just how brave she was to be part of this. And she's beautiful - as all the women are. Its kind of inspiring lesson to love ourselves.

I love it!

^Seconded! These kinds of projects are always so encouraging and definitely help us to feel better in our own skin. Plus, they help the general population be a little more accepting towards natural beauty :)

This is the book we bought for our 13 and 14 year old daughters recently.

Same idea.

i would NEVER have the courage to do that (or would want to) but it sure makes me lighten up a little on my own body!! Too bad the rest of the world won't lighten up :(

One of the things that has made me feel better about myself is nekkid showering with other women - which I do at yoga and at rugby. Granted at yoga there are some beautiful bodies and I'm almost always the heaviest person there - but I have just done the same things with my body that they have (some better and some worse).

These are real women with real bodies and I am one of them. We don't often see other women without clothes - and without sounding like some kind of lech I think it's a healthy reminder of the range of bodies out there.

This is FABULOUS!!!

Our minds can get so skewed thinking we need to strive to look like a swimsuit model but these photos show reality.

Sorry, I'm way over the "REAL beautiful" women movement. We're all real regardless of weight, whether you're a supermodel or not doesn't change the fact that we all have a vag...except JohnP.

I don't think we need to categorize but to each their own.

Yes we are all real women, but we usually only SEE the perfect real women. Most of us aren't perfect and can't aspire to be perfect. Does that make us any less desirable? Any less beautiful? These photos and books are important.

Only qualms I have with these photos is that where are the baby/pregnancy stretch marks? THat's a reality for more than 50% of women who have given birth!

I just think its nice to see images of women of all shapes and sizes. Yes, models are real women (though many of htem had a lot of work done) - but they are often airbrushed and touched up to the hilt.

Women need to know that women of all shapes and sizes can look and be beautiful.

Also, did you all find the woman who looked like she lost 100+ pounds on the second link? I'd love ot know your thoughts. Does her body look like that due to weight loss? Pregnancy? How much weight do you think she lost? I would LOVE to know her story.

CIELOARGE 03-06-2013 12:39 PM

I have no problem with my body. Sure, I would like to change a few things but I don't get depressed when I see myself in the mirror.

I like the concept but I personally think that nudity should be something private, that you don't parade around. But that's just me.

Regarding the woman in the middle, it is defenetly due to weight loss. No way pregnancy byitself did that to her body.
