In paper overload!

I am trying to be more organized, has been a goal since we moved into a larger house a few months ago. But between the kids and the DH all being in school, the exceeding amount of junkmail that everyone sends when you first move & the fact that we are still trying to file away paper being unpacked......I feel like I am constantly drowning in paper!

I was very tempted to torch it all in the fireplace today! :dizzy:

I'm very OCD about organizing, here's a tip.

Make designated baskets for each family member where they should deposit everything.

Then sort it keep, trash, donate.

i have a two-drawer cabinet in the bedroom that all things current go into - my handwritten budget for each month, bills that need to be paid, etc....on top of the drawers i have an accordion file that i put paperwork in that i no longer need, bills paid etc, but need to still keep

when i get mail anything that i dont automatically need goes directly to the recycle bin in the laundry room....other things that i need get dropped into the drawers with the budget...if it's DH's, i drop it on his desk and forget about it...if it's BIL's or niece's mail, which we get here, i have a spot for their mail on the entertainment center shelves....but really most of it just ends up recycled

Mozzy.....I went out and got a "mail" table so the paper doesn't collect on the counters or dining table anymore but I like the basket idea. Just a matter of getting everyone else to use them too!

alaskanlaughter...........We recycle paper (actually found a place here that pays us for paper!) but we are terrible about sorting it out right away. Need to get in the habit so it doesn't get so overwhelming by the end of the week.
